• Think I'm going to get rid of the Z28

As it stands right now, the car is falling apart. 97,000 on the odometer. Stocker wheels are trashed due to NY winters (drove it through one winter, partially, bad idea), and hitting a nice curb during A.S.S. 1.5.

Engine is knocking like a ***** lately on startup, worse than ever. Transmission is slipping badly. Interior is falling apart. The entire control setup for the drivers side seat just up and fell off. The window control assembly in the drivers side door popped out (retainer clip snapped). Interior is shot (cloth).

It has so many creaks and moans and whines that I could spend the rest of my life trying to find them and I never would.

I just don't enjoy driving it, anymore, for all of the above reasons.

I might look for a slightly used Silverado or other 4WD truck, and then look for an inexpensive project car next Spring. But for now, I'm trying to decide what to look for, truck-wise. Any suggestions?

Have you tried SFC's to stop the rattlings? That helped a lot of my thirdgen.

97k should be nothing for an LS1, you probably got a friday car man. :(

Silverados are pretty nice but if you want more of a nicer look, go for a GMC Seirra like a denali cause Silverados focus more on functionality IMO. I would recommend jusr running down to your local dealer so you can see all the different options and combos.

no matter which truck you get, milage will suck. Just look into resale value and go from there. Yopu're still gonna overpay though :(

Yep... My buddy has 120k on his LS1, and it still runs like new. My brother's has ~117k, and the only problem with it is a slight oil leak at the valve cover. Mine's "only" (heh) got 83k on it, but it's strong as an ox.
