• Thought i would post a pic of a friends car....

Hes got a 94 fd rx-7 Twin turbo Every bolt on you could possibly think of, he runs low 11's. when you sit in it it feels like your in a race car and EVERY single person you pass, points/stares/takespics and try to race especially when he shoots ft long flames in 3,4,5 gear....After cruising in this for the past few weeks, my car feels like a go cart :(

nice looking car but worthless in my opinion... you gotta pay a pretty penny just to get crap fixed on it, and take it to a certain place that knows how to work with thier engines.....

mmmm FD. Can I be your friends friend?

The engines are reliable if properly cared for, but with the turbos they just get so damn hot. If you buy a FD you have to either have a seperate bank account for repairs or have an extra engine already built to drop in when that one blows. Then you rebuild the blown one and swap when you blow another apex seal. I say its worth it to own one of the nicest sports cars of all time. That is assuming it isn't your daily driver.

In stock form the cars are VERY reliable. It is when you get into modding that they become un reliable. Also twins is not the way to go on those at all. 1 BIG turbo is the way to go. As for repair costs, they arent too bad if you live in Ohio. We have a privately owned shop (not a dealership) here in central ohio that does great work for really cheap. they have people coming from IL and NY just to have the work done for a fair price.

How can you say twins is less? Set up a nice sequential turbo setup where theres NO lag....

....or do what I've seen by taking one smaller turbo and using its air to spin up a much larger turbo and feed the motor THAT way..

ive never heard of something like that. got any pics of a set up like that? sounds like a really interesting set up.

i really like RX7's. even with a body kit they dont look that bad.

If it wasn't for someone else buying it first, I woulda had an 87 twin turbo rx7 as my first car, instead of my camaro (which i saw coming home from where the rx7 was)

Oh man, I'd be asking to ride in that car all the time.

I'm a huge fan of FD's. Someday I'd love to have one with the twin turbo setup and one with an LS1 or LS2 swap
