    who rides bikes?

    who in here rides street motorcycles? ive been riding a 1986 yamaha virago 700cc but im really looking to upgrade to a sportbike as i dont like my bike and i dont like the "roadcruiser" style of bikes. im looking at mid 80's to early 90's bikes

    i have picked out some bikes so far that are in my price range.

    yamaha fz750

    suzuki gs500 (im hesitant about such a small cc bike)

    and the kawasaki ninja 600

    any opinions on any of the bikes are anyone ride any of them? thanks

    Why such old bikes? I will be buying mine around a year from now. Insurance will be cheaper after I'm married [img]tongue.gif[/img]

      I've had a Ninja 600 for years. It was my beginner bike. I thought it was a great bike. Sold it with 30 some thousand miles on it. I haven't ridden other bikes around those years but I can tell you I was happy with the Ninja if that helps? I rode it one last time after riding my R6 for awhile and was still pretty impressed how it went.

        I just got a 2005 Yamaha R1 about 2 weeks ago and i am now going to have to buy a lowering kit for it.I didnt even get to look at it first my dad said he would be back with a crotch rocket so i figured and r6 or a gsxr 600 but he brought home a new r1 and i love it. I am just a little to short. I have to tip toe to ride it.

              I have a 2000 R6 and love it. You could probably find an FZR600 for a decent price and they are nice bikes.

                It was an early birthday present. My birth day is the 26th. I think he bought it just because of the color. It is the Raven one. That is all black accept for some red decals. My brother in law has a Blue 2005 r1 with a lowering kit extended swing arm and a power commander. so i am hoping to satrt getting some suff for mine soon so i can out run him.

                  I've had a 89 Honduh NT650 Hawk GT for almost a year. Its no rocket by anymeans but'll get up go when you want it too.

                    Nice man, you're lucky. It can't be your first bike right? I was riding my buddies red 05 R1 just yesterday. Its sick and you gotta really try just to keep that nose down when hammering on it.

                    If I were you, I wouldn't lower it or put an extended swingarm on it, because you are just messing up your entire ability to hit the corners and thats what riding these things are all about. I'll bet your buddy has 3 inch *** strips on each side of his tire... [img]tongue.gif[/img]
