I had a 94 FZR600 in college. sold it afterwards. looked at another FZR a couple of weeks ago, but the seller wanted too much $$ for it. Bad time to buy, maybe this winter I'll pick up another bike when the demand isnt so great.

Wow. Any prior experience? Like had your liscence for a while, road other bikes, ride dirtbikes or just straight up newbie? If so, hah, thats a hell of a bike to learn on eh?

And Yaba, man, money talks and **** walks. I'd say any older sportbike would be decent for the right price ya know? Keep your options open. Check out the Yamaha FZR's, the Kawi Ninjas, and the Honda CBR's. Im not a fan of the Suzuki Katanas...

early 90's Yamaha FZR600. can be had at reasonable prices and I like the looks of them better than some of the new bikes. decently fast for a mid-range bike.

I have to recommend a suzuki katana. Its been my daily driver for about 8 months now and I still dont wish I had a car over it. Great on gas and cheap to buy. You can find 98's for about $2000. Not the best looking bike, not the lightest bike, but it still takes corners well and it feels like a sport bike while you are on it. I have about 46,000 miles on mine and i have had very few problems with it. Engine size isnt too bad either, you can get a 600 or 750.
There is fast, too fast, and way too fast. Way too fast is almost fast enough.

they are alittle more pricey than 2000 for a 98. more like 3200. but a good choice. why are they so cheap? hmm... i think if i look long enough. i can find one for cheap a guy at my work told me gas prices will be going up 60 cents this month. if that happens i cant afford to sell the sixer and get a trans am. and i will be riding my bike or a new bike alot. i work fast food fer crap sake. any other bike suggestions or has any else heard of gas prices raising again?

I can tell you more about katanas, just ask. And yes they usually are more than 2000 but if you look hard enough you can find them cheaper. I wish you lived closer because I'm selling mine probably this month. Hondas are more upright and more comfortable, and it's a honda, it will probably outlive you. I know nothing about kawasakis, but gixxers and yamahas have a lot of lean towards the bars and arent the best commuter bikes. If you havent ridden before I wouldnt go 900, stick to something like an 03 cbr600. Believe me, just because a 600 doesnt sound big dosent mean it wont haull ***. You will be very surprised.
