ticket for no turn signal in FL?

My friend told me tonight that Florida is giving out tickets for not using your turn signal when changing lane. He said it's a new law and that people will get a $375 ticket for it! I don't believe him one bit! I can see maybe $80 or something if the cop is in a bad mood, but $375 seems WAY out there...

not sure about $375 I got one awhile back and it was like $90, just a moving violation.

BUt I did get pulled over for doing 10 over and changing lanes withough a signal and cop gave me reckless driving with an automatic court date.


side note, if tou kick the tail out around the corner you can techinically be charged with "street racing" get your car impounded, and do time(like 3 years) and up to I believe a $5k fine.

(5) A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a moving violation as provided in chapter 318.

318.18 Amount of civil penalties.--
(3)(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, $60 for all moving violations not requiring a mandatory appearance.

The only way you would get more then a $60 fine is if you were speeding while not signalling, then like eric said, you can get nailed with reckless or careless driving.

I believe it- I've been pulled over for not using a turn signal while making a right turn at three in the morning, and one of my friends were pulled over for not using one while changing lanes. Finally though, in Florida, since its been a law for quite some time (using turn signals). Now, $350 a pop, I don't believe, because that would bring in so much more income than speeding

You people who can't use a turn signal need to have your licences revoked. If you don't use it when people are around its clear you are just an a-hole, because its so simple, but you are too cool to use it so now all the sudden the person behind you has to slam on their brakes because you slammed on your with no warning to turn.

I just moved out of the state and a week before I left I heard about this. Yes it's true they will fine you for it. As for the amount, no clue. It is a MOVING VIOLATION so you will get points for it. Gay but true [img]graemlins/twak.gif[/img]

Another thing they are starting to do is pull over people who CRUISE IN THE LEFT LANE. I HATE that crap...people who do the speed limit or slower in the left lane need to MOVE OVER or go back up north...plain and simple.

I'm sorry, but ask any native floridian and they will tell you the majority of the time its the stupid snowbirds who live down here during the winter who drive like absolute idiots. I for one am glad that the cops are starting to really enforce the turn signal laws now and that left lane for passing ONLY.

a driver for my company got a ticket for not using turn signals. iwork for pet supermarket. it was a 360 dollar fine.. maybe because its a freak'n semi with a container as to why it was so high.

I use my blinkers always.
