  • ****ing Tires Plus

So I dropped my car off at tires plus today to get an alignment. I'm walking towards the local sporting goods store to waste some time, and I nearly get run over by my own car. Some guy is driving it through the parking lot Spooling up the turbo and cornering hard spinning the tires a little bit. Not a big deal I was just going to let it go.

So 25min later I'm walking out of the sporting goods store. I get about halfway back I hear a car doing a big burnout. Just a few seconds later my car goes Flying by at about 85-90 in a 55. Then the guy jams on the brakes just barely makes a 90 degree turn, and floors it again, does a u turn spins the tires, and heads back to tires plus WOT the whole way.

I could barely see straight when I got to tires plus. After 30min of yelling at the manager, he basicaly said "We have to beat on cars to get them going fast enough to check their high speed stability after aligning them." And he said "we though it had some driveability issues." So essentialy I paid tires plus 70$ to beat the **** out of my car. WTF.

Next time it goes anywhere I'm going to give it a 2000RPM revlimiter, and not worry about it.

No way, don't take it and call a regional manager or something! They have NO right to smoke up your tires and trash your car. Don't take it! At least make them put on a new set of really expensive tires or tell them to get ready to hit the courts... :D

Thanks for the advice. I just couldn't beleive that the manager just stood there and told me to my face that it was "neccesary" and then forced me to pay the full amount before he would give me the keys.

I would never have payed him a cent. I would've gotten a layer involved right then.

Talk to a lawyer before you do anything, the first consultation is usually free. If there is evidence to be found, I'm sure any lawyer would jump on the chance to go after a business.

I used to work at Tires Plus in Oak Creek Wisconsin.
Let me tell you, the managers there are morons. I ran out of ink once and the manager said "Jesus christ you cant even bring a pen to work, how the hell are you going to make it in life blah blah blah." And the decisions they make are rediculous. Instead of hiring more people they slave everyone. I had plenty of 10 hour shifts with no breaks.
Oh and price, hahaha they are a f-ucking rip off. They wanted to charge my mother $159 for 1 tire and labor. They wanted to charge me as an employee 26$ to plug my flat tire.

Never ever go there again dude. I find small privately owned shops have more competent mechanics and employees.

When i worked there, I was talking to this guy about this sweet GNX down my road and this other guy comes up and says "Those are ugly cars". Then he starts talking about toyota celicas and acura integras. I wanted to smack him.

Most of the employees that work for the Franchises (Tires Plus) are ricers even the manager has a honda accord with a fart tip.

The guy at Firestone told me it how severely bad it was not to change me oil immedately at 2500k miles. And thats why my oil light was on, not because one of the moron mechanics only put 3 quarts in.
