So whats the norm? Whats not an accent? Say if you southerners hear us notherners talk, do you think we have accents? Id say we talk pretty plain up here in upstate NY. No long island accent, no BAASTIN accent, no NH accent, no Canadian accent eh.

Listen to national news broadcasters. They're trained to speak without any regional accent. It's just "generic american english."
