  • second thoughts about future cars

at first i was dead set on gettign another camaro with a 8 this time or a gto but i have also been looking at german cars too especially audi cause i really like them. but with the rising price of gas it seems like it will cost a arm and leg to drive a z28 or gto especially on high test with a big v8 buring the gas. how expensive would gas have to get for you not to get something like a z28 or gto?

it would probably never get too high for me cause if i ever got my hands on one, i would need racing fuel after i got done with it :D

LSx motors get better gas mileage than alot of other cars out there. The LS7 motor gets better gas mileage than the honda s2000.

                The c6 corvette (LS2) gets excellent gas milage for a car with 400hp. 18mpg city/28mpg hwy! And the 505hp C6 Z06 with the 7.0L engine (LS7) gets 16mpg city/26mpg hwy.
                2005 GTO gets 17mpg city/25mpg hwy
The Audi TT coupe 250hp V6 gets 21mpg city/27mpg hwy.

Just like the 03 Cobra and the WRX STi get about the same mileage (boosted V8 vs boosted 4cyl)...its because you don't have to wind them up to get going. When HRM did that USA vs Japan issue a year or so ago, they blamed that the STi got the same if not worse mileage was because they were always laying into the throttle.

You have to wind that s2000 to above 6k to get it moving....the price you pay for a high revving motor.
