ya most of the time when bikes get caught its when they stop and aren't even aware of the cop. Thats what happen when I got busted with my speeding ticket. A guy that was in driving school got one for 110 in a 30 and he came to a stop light and then the cop caught up and nailed him. 205 is easily possible on a bike or the liter bikes. I've been over 170 on mine and its ****ing nuts but @ that speed its actually quite smooth going down the road you just have to look @ least 1/2 a mile ahead of you because it will take you atleast that long to stop. But as far as handling its pretty much non existent you go straight with slight curves possible.

Darwin Holmstrom, of Crystal, who has written several motorcycle books, including "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Motorcycles," said Tuesday that it is impossible that Tilley's bike reached 205 mph without "mindless modifications."

He said it would cost up to $25,000 in modifications to reach that speed on a $9,000 bike.

"Well, I don't think the kid is very smart, but if he hit 205, then he should be at the Bonneville Salt Flats (an annual speed racing time trial in Utah)," said Holmstrom, 41, a former regional editor for Motorcyclist Magazine.

"He was probably running [up to] 160, and that's insane on public roads. It's suicidal. He has no idea of his own mortality."
That seems more reasonable to me...

I know 2 people that one who has a 2002 929 with power commander, port and polish on the head and a pipe. He has reached 197 on it and got scared it was still pulling hard. I know that is a vary believable one because I was @ 160 behind him. I think he said he had with custom stuff on the bike spent $2000 on it. Guy sold it to my friend for $5400. Another guy with a 2000 hyabusa. (fastest street bike) He was doing 198 in 5th gear. Still had one more to go. All this guy had was a pipe on it. It was the one before they put the 186 mph governor on them. So it doesn't take 25,000 in mods to reach 200

you can out run the cop any day of the week but you can never out run the radio plain and simple as that

I saw this earlier today. I was wondering how long it would take to hit all the message boards.

Someone up above mentioned spike strips. I don't believe they spike strip motorcycles. That would probably constitute deadly force when dealing with a motorcycle (probably, don't know for sure though).

i doubt the police would use a spike strip on a guy giong 205 on a bike. they might as well place a few landmines too, cause if he hits either one at that speed, hes dead.

My Uncle used to tow his ocean kayak with his motorcycle. He had a cruiser though, I believe it was a rare Honda Silverwing or something. But he had no troubles towing the kayak. Dunno about actual crotch rockets though.
