My cousin was doing her spanish homework and one of my other cousins (who was a little kid) was watching her. She said to him "hey AJ you want to learn how to say your name in spanish?" and he said he did. She said ok "A is pronoucned like 'ho' and J is pronounced like 'mo' " So then he went to my aunt and said "aunt sue aunt sue, i know how to say my name in spanish", and she asked him how and he said "my name is homo" lmao....my aunt about died laughing.

I'll agree with both sides. The US needs a single language for administrative and governmental purposes at the very least. A single language creates a single cultural identity (just ask the ottomans how well the syrian/mesopotamian part of their empire turned out when they didn't assimilate the arabs into a turkic speaking, turkic identity.)
I do think it is a good idea to learn more than just a native tounge. It is helpful in many situations, and it can increase your pay. I'm learning spanish, french, and russian currently and I plan to learn more.
