    Anyone else get this e-mail?

*** Thank You for Your Business ***

    Dear Johnny Ray,

Recently, the PayPal site had technology issues that may have hindered your ability to conduct business using PayPal.

To show our appreciation for your continued business, we're going to credit you for PayPal transaction fees incurred on October 28, 2004, between 12:00:00 AM PDT and 11:59:59 PM PDT.†

You don't need to do anything to receive your credit. We'll add up the transaction fees you accumulate, and send a credit to your PayPal account by November 25, 2004.

Read FAQs at https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/we...ay-outside#Faq to learn more.

    Sincerely,

    PayPal

†Transaction fees will only be credited to users in certain countries.

Please note: Outside of the U.S. Pacific time zone, this 24-hour period will not match exactly the October 28 calendar day.

    We're taking this time to:

    - Apologize for the recent PayPal site issues.

    - Express our gratitude for your continued business with PayPal.

    - Reinforce our commitment to the PayPal community.

        I didn't get that e-mail...
But it sounds funny, why would they give you free money? It looks to me like they're saying they will pay for anything you buy all day tomorrow, October 28th.

Smells like my roommate's crotch... very fishy...

The paypal site was on and off for almost two weeks in a row. They said it was routine maintenance, but I am sure they got hacked. I did loss some business since no one could receive money or send it via paypal. Enough people complained and paypal decided to have a free transaction day. Anytime someone received money via paypal, they are charged 2% of the transfer. On the 28th, no fees will be charged.

All I know is that they stopped instant checking account transfers, and now you have to wait 3 days for funds to clear which sucks
