• RIDICULOUS TICKET

I've heard people on the board ranting before about getting speeding tickets, etc. but I just think this one is absurd. My girlfriend was driving my car and got pulled over in a school zone for going 41 mph. I guess she didn't see the sign or something. The ticket cost us $242!!!! FYI the school zone was by a ****ing HIGH SCHOOL. Hey cops, you think any little kids are going to be running around in the street in front of any school, much less a high school? They just sit there and wait to prey on people that are speeding in their precious school zones that NO KIDS EVER WALK IN. Then MY $240 that goes to the city of ****ing Edmond is used to pay those ******* cops so they can continue to sit in apartment parking lots and clock people in school zones in order to give them INSANELY high fines. USE MY MONEY FOR SOMETHING ****ING REAL!!!!!!!

Just as a comparison, I got pulled over doing 86 in a 60 a couple months ago in OKC (stupid I know, I only have like 4 tickets ever) and the ticket was $200...wait, I paid LESS going 86mph THAN 40???? TRAFFIC LAWS ARE INSANE!!!!!!!! I didn't complain about that one, I deserved it, but NO ONE deserves to pay $240 for a damn school zone ticket. If high school kids are too stupid to not get hit by a car going 40mph then maybe they're too stupid to ****ing live.

You wouldn't be saying that if your child was hit by somebody going 41 in a 25 zone... because school zones are 25 mph here. Never know what happens around those places...

    41/25 > 86/60

Sorry about the ticket man, but I bet you or your gf wont ever speed in a school zone.. at least for a while

Sounds like they double the fines for speeding in school zones like they do here...

And did I read that right? Your money? Your woman gets a 242 dollar speeding ticket and you are paying for it? Lol, well, youre an awful nice boyfriend. If my g/f did that, "Sucks for you bebs, I guess next time you won't speed in my car huh?". Not that Im an A*hole, but Im not gonna pay for her F up, lol.

Does suck about the ticket though... I got a 290 dollar non-moving violation before...

Yeah some things in the justice system are just ****ed. I got a $210 ticket in Georgia I-95 Southbound for going 93 in a 70... I was trying to get home before the hurricane hit so I didnt get caught in it, and there were no cars within miles of me.

Ya, I got a ticket a couple years ago in a school zone. It was a HS one too, and this HS is on a major road here and I was totally pissed. I was going 40mph where the speed limit is normally 35mph. I was going to a docor's apt so I didn't even think about it being schooltime since I'm always at work during that time. I was so pissed, the cop was just sitting there clocking people. But I don't think my fine was quite as expensive as your girls. Oh ya, and there wasn't even a flashing light or nothing, just a sign that said school zone from blah blah time to this time. grrr....ya it sux

              Um, deal with it.

              It is a SCHOOL ZONE.

Doesn't matter what age the school children are.... it is a school zone, sorry.

              Next time, slow down

Jeez, officers protected the peace..... horrible of them.. right?

How would you feel if your child was going to school and someone sped through a school zone?

I got a ticket for 31 mph in a school zone and it was $218. 41 mph would have cost me $474.

yup..i think they work school zones like contruction zones...best way not to get a speeding ticket...dont speed!! ...i spent 3 nights in solitary for my last ticket..of course it was 100/55..but after enough of a record (which you'll get if you street race or just speed long enough) they dont care how fast you're going...because my ticket was even dropped to an 85/55..technically i believe they could have even put her in jail for that if they really wanted to...now the track is the only place i speed

                        All I can say is:

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Mommyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, the mean cop gave me a ticket for breaking the law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Grow the hell up. It isn't a ridiculus ticket. It is the assinine driver who wasn't paying attention.

Sometimes mistakes happen driving, sometimes you don't see the sign: that doesn't mean you're "assinine." I paid the fine, it's not like I'm trying to contest it, it just pisses me off that they make you pay that much. Don't tell me to grow up, you don't even know me.

                            I'm done.

Oh, and my girl and I live together, her paycheck is my paycheck and vice versa. If that wasn't the case I would've said "tough ****" :D

my sister used to cross the street to the highschool every day and meet me there so i could give her a ride home after school..they had a crossing guard there and all...but thats one example...i guess it depends on the school's exact setup as to whether or not a school zone is required...but in the case of the school here it was obvious that one was
