  • *sigh* sometimes it feels like i've accomplished nothing :(

I dont know why i get in these moods, but i do. I just feel like i've accomplished nothing sometimes, sure i've lost 80 pounds but 80 pounds of what muscle or fat. I mean, i look down at myself and i see these things on my chest and that thing around my stomach :( . My goal is only 20 pounds away (195) but i think more than likely its going to be 30-40....(175-185). There are some people on an atkins message board that have lost only 65-70 pounds and 60 inches....i've lost 80 pounds and only 48 inches (but then again i didn't measure myself right away, the first time i took measurements were around the 3rd month. My first dated record on mybodycomp.com is 3-xx-04, i started on 1-2-04 soooo maybe i've lost more inches). Goal is so close....yet so far....it's depressing. <sigh> i hate this long journey, i cannot wait for it to be done with.

Sorry about ranting to you guys....but i just needed to type it/say it whatever you want to consider it. It helps

Well.... start pumping iron and eat 1gr of protein per lb of lean body mass for next 4-5 days after work out.. then either hit the gym again or let your body rest for a couple of more days and then hit the gym again.

In past 5 months I gained 25lb of muscle mass doing this.

To gain muscle mass you don't need to consume astronomical amounts of calories. All you need is protein to build muscles, calories are just for energy. Excessive energy turns into fat.

Keep in mind though that if you work out your energy needs are going to go up, so make adjustments.

Try going to 1200-1700 calorie (depending on your lifestyle) low carb diet and do cardio every day or something.

80lb is a lot dude, keep it up.

You should take a fat % test. I had to take them all the time for wrestling.

look, losing that much weight will cause loose skin (usually). You're going to have to RUN and if you want to tone yourself, lift weights. Losing weight from a diet will lose inches, but you still won't be defined. Congratulations on the 80lbs though, holy ****!
