That EXACT same **** happened to my 93 bird. Except I was in the back like that 96 Escort and it was MY FAULT! Got a citation for following too closley. I was behind a van and couldn't see anything in front of him - then he locks the brakes and swerves out of the way and leaves a parked car on the highway for me to slam into. Guy behind me was inches from rear-ending me.

The F-150 should be at fault for following too closley and having to lock his brakes. I hate people on the road who can't drive, especially those in ridiculously large cars. I wish Americans weren't retarded and drive like the Germans do.

er, so yeah, you see all that dmg on my car? they want $1755 to fix it ... the place seemed kinda... run down... they say that they dont have to replace the quarter panels... They were going to like put my car on a frame rack or something and like bend the Quarter panels back into place... and just putty the rest... they also say they only need to replace like 2 things under the bumper cover not the cover itself... they also told me that my paint wasn't cracking from the wreck!!!!  I swear to god... She thought that my bumper was like that before the wreck... I mean how can a place like this make it on nationwide Ins Co's A list of shops... i mean wtf...

I'm not going to use them...i really feel uncomftorable with the place... they didn't seem to up to speed about the rest of the rear end of the car... Like the hatch meeting up with the part that says Camaro... bunch of idiots... But are they right about not replacing the Quarter Panels? They are bent pretty badly... That frame rack thing made me really nervous... i feel like their not telling me something...

find another shop.... get another estimate. You *should* have the right to chose who makes the rapairs. If you feel uncomfortable with the place, dont let them do it. Would you let just anybody with a scalpel and a hacksaw do you brain surgery? Like Jeff Foxworthy says "Aight. What we gonna do is, saawwww the top uh yur head off and root around in there with a stick till we find that dad burn clot"

Wow that sucks dude i wish i had my digi camaera when my car got hit to document the damage done. My driver side door was stuck shut and the out shell was cracked and basiclly gone. the quater panel was pulled down and folded up under the car and the subframe and rocker panel were totally fed. They found the subframe and rocker panel destroyed after 6 g's were spent on it after that stuff it was around the 10 g area. But if the quater panel can be fix just get it fixed other wise you are gonna have weld marks all in that gutter area of the hatch and down the door jam.

I doubt very much the frame is bent. I was a painter/body man for 5 years and have seen many "taps" just like that. Basically, your bumper took most of the hit and worked just like it was designed. Sure the quarters are wrinkled but that's normal too.

I can guarantee you that shop you took it to sucks!! Don't ever believe that it's a good shop just because the insurance company recommended it. In fact a lot of insurance companies have "behind the scene" dealings going on with their "recommended" shops. In other words, the shop will fix your car with used parts and take a lot of shortcuts to make the repair as cheap as possible for the insurance company. They could care less about you and the quality of work will be questionable. Go with your gut feelings and take it to another shop... trust me I've been there.

your car is probably totalled if you get them to fix everything cuz it really needs new 1/4 panels looking at it.

see, well i'm worried about if they just fix it and do a sh!tty job. I mean what if my hood was screwed, would they just bend that back too? I'd much rather have them replace the quarters than bend them back up and putty them. This is turning into a fiasco pretty quickly... I go to another shop today ... >.<

Yah I would go to a diff shop the guy that fixed mine for one only uses new OEM parts unless you bring a body kit or something to him to put on. Also his dad fixed our car since my dad live here for like 23 yrs so we knew him pretty well so I got lucky in that sense.

yarg ... so i went to the new shop today ... soo much better than that other one. More thorough. more everything. I'm even getting it fixed sooner. True2Form is the name of the place. It looks like they do some good work. They even said they would take a look at my front end to align a few things.

Well, along with them being more thorough, we found more problems. The rear end of my car isn't just pushed down a quarter inch. its also pushed forward about a 1/4 inch. There is structural dmg in the trunk under the carpet//mats. but the worst news was that my unibody frame had taken a massive hit. Under the trunk on each side of the muffler are like body supports that connect to the bumperish area. Those are like totalled. They are shoved in about an inch and are bent down about an inch too. she doesn't know if she can fix it, the lady said that if they can't fix it they will put in new ones ... if that is possible... so idk what the ins co is gonna do when they hear frame dmg ...
