Is e-bay a very safe place to shop? I've never used it, and didn't know if people get burned there alot or not. Looking at some things for my Firebird. (A replacement factory radio). They had a monsoon cd am/fm that looked just like mine (EQ) but I dont have the monsoon system. It was priced fair. Can I use this? I only have 4 speakers. All my radio buttons letters- numbers have worn off and you cant read them anymore. I wanted to stick to factory. Did not know where to post this, so I put it here. Thanks! jessica ;)

just look at the members rateing, every time you buy or sell somthing on ebay, the other person rates you. If they have a good rating from several people, your usually gonna be safe.

Ive made about 20 ebay purchases at least, and i have yet to have a problem. Its all about the member rating.

Yup, a few things about eBay, some have been previously mentioned.

- Check the seller's feedback rating. If you see a lot of negatives or problems with items never reaching the buyers you may have a bad seller on your hands.
- ALWAYS read EVERYTHING on the page! Know the condition of the item and what it comes with.
- Find out how much shipping is going to be and where the individual ships.
- Know what types of payment are accepted, and if you meet the criteria. If you use Paypal, most sellers won't sell to you if you have an unconfirmed address. GET IT CONFIRMED!
- Figure out how much the item is worth to you, and set that figure as your max bid - then leave it alone! Don't get caught up in a bidding war. This is what I do: I figure out how much an item can be had locally (with tax) or on eBay as a "Buy it Now" item and add shipping to it. Then I figure out a % of that total cost that I want to pay for that type of item. Taking the new %, I subtract the seller's shipping rate and the amount that remains is my max bid. I set my max bid and see where it goes, but I WILL NOT INCREASE IT!

Follow these guidelines and you'll never get burned... hopefully. ;)
