BiH,

Depending on mods, the GTP/GSs are in the 12's in street trim on stock heads/cam.

But how long would it take to buy that exhaust/intake setup with the insurance and gas them folks pay, hmm? ;)

And stock form? HA! You won't stay that way for long, trust me! I've just been dealing with other expenses, otherwise I'd have my 3.4" pulley on my car by now! :D

Alright, everything's getting screwed up in this thread. My last post was illustrating what a GTP/GS can do in stock form. The title of the thread is NOT "Car shopping. Considering Z28 or TransAm"

You say you were talking about GTP's/Z28's in stock form? You can purchase a GTP, buy all the mods you'd need to get it into 12's and still pay less than you would for a Z28 (LS1) that has low miles and hasn't been ragged out. Another thing to think about is insurance... please don't try to tell me insurance is cheaper for a Z28 than it is for a GTP. Practicality comes into play here, have you tried to get 4 people into a Camaro? Puh-leeze! Wait... the GTP can seat 5! Can anyone say "drives easily in the snow"? Now tell me, which car is going to pop into people's minds first?

Pay attention to the ENTIRE thread, and don't assume people are responding only to your posts.

EDIT: Let's get back on topic.

Plus they are cheap for what your getting. I almost bought one but found a good deal on a wrangler from a friend.

Yes, thanks L32Projekt. I was strongly considering a z28 or a trans am. Actually was damn close to buying one. Guess what? My insurance was more than the damn payment. I would LOVE to have another f-body, just isn't going to happen. I appriciate the replies, but please keep it on topic. I knew a stock z28/trans am is faster than a stock GTP. I think everyone here does.

Thanks L32Projekt/foff667/3.4slow to go for your solid replies.

I've seen some pretty nice Catera's, but still not my cup of tea if it comes to a Cadillac. I would prefer a CTS-V.

Oh, a Catera is a rebadged Opel.

almost a year ago I traded in my 98 v6 camaro for an 01 gtp. I have put 25000 miles on the car with no problems. Everyone here is going to tell you to get another f-body, but the fact of the matter is they are nothing but crap. I loved my camaro, but it was always being fixed. Buy the GTP and you will love it. It is very nice to have a car that has balls.
