  • Firebird = Camry

I got rearended. Not much of a story. I was comming home from school and the car in front of me slammed on its breaks, I slammed on mine. I stopped in time, the person behind me didn't. Bam bam boom

It basicly busted up my bumper and broke the welds between my Y pipe and my mufller, so it was just hangin on the ground.

    Pictures Here

I get a call from the her Insurance company , after she reported it, and the rep. says "You were driving a silver 99 Toyota Camry?" I replied "No....I drive a Pewter 99 Firebird.

I wouldn't have been insulted, if it was mistaken for a camaro or corvette, we do have our similarites, but Camry. WTF.

I guess it proves she wasnt paying much attention anyway.

    Ouch...sorry to see/hear that.

Your bumper doesn't look as bad as I pictured it, but it's still pretty bad.

I don't know how on earth they assumed it was a Camry...was there a Camry involved at the accident at all?

She was driving a late 90's Chevy Malibu, unforntunatly for her that sardin can crumpled up so bad, she coudn't get out our her drivers door. We were both ok, she probably was going around 35 and I was somewhere around 20, Luckily I hadn't come to a complete stop, I was able to roll foward with the impact. My 3.5" Rolled edge Exhuast tip took alot of impact, and really did a number on her bumper.

        No Camry involved at all.

I was rear end before in my 92 Camaro, the BNW that hit me got really ****ed up and I had almost no damage. Im always suprised on how well our cars fair in accidents.

Sounds like me last night. Lost the hydraulics in my clutch yesterday, and had to get a tow. I have the GMPP extended warranty, so I call them to arrange it. After taking all the info (2001 firebird?) the GMPP rep asks me: "This is a front wheel drive sedan, right?"

                        *smack!*

me: "This is the GM protection plan and you guys don't know that a Firebird is a RWD coupe?"

I got my flatbed and the driver was pretty cool, cheered me up a little bit.
