• Anybody else have friends getting married?

A lot of my friends are getting married nowadays.. in their early 20s.. and I must say, it sucks.
I didn't expect these things to happen until much later in life, but they're happening now :( The sucky part I mentioned earlier is the feeling of losing a friend. For example, my ex is getting married and moved in with her fiance, and I hardly talk to her anymore. We used to spend about an hour a week on the phone, catching up on each others' lives, but now that she is living with her fiance I don't talk to her at all. It just really sucks feeling like I lost her as a friend, because she was one of my best friends.

So, is anybody else going through this, or experienced it before?

Think about, there are tons of other people out there in the same situation, probably a lot in Tulare. Lifes an adventure, nothings set in stone. You just gotta keep going. Theres always another friend out there, another person to talk to.As a matter of fact, I think you just got one...me ;)

i know it sucks but thats kinda of what happens. people get married and kinda mature alittle more leaving behind their friends to enjoy their youth like parties and such. as for the ex....would you want your fiancee on the phone with her ex for an hour a week. im alittle to jealous of a person for that :\

Well he knows I talk to her... she talks about me all the time to him. He knows we are good friends, so I don't see the problem. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't care if she talked to a guy friend... but I am a pretty trusting person.

It is just the whole process of everyone growing up starting their own lives.. but I just didn't expect it to happen so soon! And it sucks.

Its happening around me as well and im not even out of highschool yet! One of my best friends with whom I used to do everything with is now engaged and only 18 years old. Needless to say we never do anything together anymore and barely have time to talk considering now ever since he asked his G/F to marry him he always seems like hes in a big hurry to get things done and done right and its all work and no play anymore. Its sucks big time. But I guess its just payback for the way I am with my G/F of two years this month ton the 19th. I used to spend all my time and money on her and none on any of my other friends so I guess what goes round comes round ya know. However I do know that me and my G/F plan on getting married but not for at least another 3-4 years, just till shes about to finish college.

Josh, that's really sad that all your friends are getting married. Don't worry though.... one day they'll change the laws in California and you too can get married or whatever they'll call it.

Just remember. Rosie did it, so can you! :D

My core group of friends in HS, we are all 24 now.

Jeff: joined marines after HS, got married 1.5 year ago, wife now 8 months pregnant. (lives in NC now)

Tony: had kid his sopohmore year of HS, had one more year after HS, got married same time (same girl) now got divorced. (lives in hometown)

Newby: dated/engaged 3 years, she dumped him about 4 months ago, wanted to get back with him he said no. He is enjoining the freedom. (lives in hometown)

Justin: several girl friends, many other girls on side, go J. But I don't know if he will ever settle down. (columbus about to go to NY)

Jill: she was one of the guys, ends up dating and now about to move out of state with her boy who just got into the FBI, we never expected that. Her boyfriend is a cool guy though. (currently hometown but will be gone in a month)

ME: biggest pimp ever, now tamed for 3 years! But I work out of state and only see friends that are left in hometown maybe once a month.

But yeah I feel like I'm getting old. I landed career job. 92k a year, but work out of state all the time. Justin is photographer and lives in columbus, went to CCAD big art school, now he is going to NY to take pics of models, damn lucky SOB. Tony and Newby are still "looking for their niche in life" the Jill is marrying the FBI guy.

Then all my friends I've met since HS and througout college have already left, or leaving soon. So feel like everyone is disappearing.

It really bothers me when people close to me get married. It's frightening. I'm giving myself a complex about my age and I'm only 23. But I look young and still get carded, yay!!

my bestfriend (since we were babys) hhehe just had a baby on 4/1/05. i'm 21 she's almost 21. still when i think about it, it's just crazy. (people at work work will come out to me and ask me why i'm not in school, i say how old do you think i am. most of them say 15-16. then i just laugh and say that i'm 21 almost 22. they get a kick out of it.) but i have been with my boyfriend for almost 4 and a half years(high school sweet heart) and thank god non of our friends are getting marryed yet. i would just feel too old. i never want to grow up.
