BAH! OK People, stop jocking the LS1's balls for a sec. TIME WARP BACK! We're in 1996! Look, a Mustang GT with a 4.6L modular V8 is lining up with a Z28 Camaro with his LT1! OOOOHHHHHH! And they're OFF! And the Mustang looses! THERE WERE NO LS1'S HERE!!!!! Yes the LT1 is "slow" compared to the LS1, but at the time it was around, it was the highest performing V8 available (aside from the Corvette) at the time!

Fact: GM was beating the crap out of Ford in the performance department until the dying days of the F-Body platform...

if i'm not mistaken, the F-body has been as powerful or (more often) more powerful than the Mustang in every model year. this doesn't include the SVT vehicles, which are not regular production models. hell, even then, the F-body was still more powerful than some of the SVT cobras (mid-90s especially.)

it may be the elevations and stuff where you guys are, but around here, my car beats them street racing and on the track, they usually run low 15s to high 14s. i havent seen one run 13s anywhere close to stock

Well, my car runs and traps faster than yours, and your about to see a firsthand perspective of what it looks like for me to race one thats got just exhaust and MSD as mods. I can hang with autos for a little bit if they have crappy gears.
