Deal. Only stipulation is that I get a V8 as well, one I have access to. But I am not trying to get into a pissing match here. From one V8 compared to another, the LT1 was a SLUG stock. Strong engines to build on, but stock, they are horrible.

They were good for their time.

That video did not surprise me, either. Not sure how some people can say they are horrible persay, but they aren't the king of the jungle; atleast they aren't anymore.

A slightly-modded one will put up a good fight, however. There used to be one a few blocks from me that was heavily modded that was edging into the 10's.

Uhm are you guys all on crack?

lt1s in the 15s? Stock lt1s are low 14s, high 13s, hell some have run mid 13s STOCK. Granted its unusual but its happend, But a basic bolt on lt1 is definitely a mid 13 sec at least.

anyone follow about 15 seconds after the start of the race? See how far ahead that f0body was?

Look at the vid ~18 seconds, how far ahead is the z28?

Yep, we were even in 1st, 2nd wasnt bad, but he hits 3rd before me, and im still in 2nd, and he just keeps pullin and pullin.

All thats done to the LT1 is a exhaust from the y-pipe back, and an MSD. Doesnt even have a CAI. 125,000 mile LT1 walked me like that, and my car isnt too slow.

              Just goes to show.......... ;)

i'm not knocking LT1's at all. i'd love to have one and may be getting one.

my point is, just like any car, if an LT1 isn't properly modded and tuned, it can be beaten.

that's only cuz it's from a V6's point of view.

Well of course thats the truth.

We are talking a stock lt1 vs. a v6. Not a broken down lt1, towing a 50' boat, that happens to have accidnetly gotten filled with concrete, on four flat tires, with a slipping transmission.

And a blown lt1 run a 14.1? I have heard of a Blown and juiced v6 run a 15.7 so they all must run that, right?

Of course you are going to be even with it off the line, you both likely run the same 60' lets say a average 2.1 60', even if he cuts a 2.0 in a street race I am sure there is room for a .1 difference in R/T especially since you guys do not have a tree to go off of.

I bet by the 1/8th mile he puts ~5-8 carlengths on you and the full 1/14 ~15 carlengths.

Sorry guys, lt1 is faster, its not just a little faster it bascially stomps the piss out of v6s. And guess what this is coming from one of the quicker v6s on the board.

^^^^Bam, what he said. Stock showroom new V6 vs. stock showroom new LT1, we get owned. Bottom line right there.

I just wanted to visually prove that for all of you 'visual' learners
