Jeeezzz guys..lighten up

Take it for what it's worth. They were just out having fun with a video cam.. Hell of course he's going to get raped by an LT1.. Who the phuck cares?? At the very least he got in some good practice digs..

That's why we V6ers prey on Hondas and stock Mustang GT's.

Amazing. You had to physically take a camcorder and record something that most of us knew from the start of this whole conversation. Of course the stock NA LT1 will beat a stock NA V6, that has been known since the beginning of time. I am betting it is because the LT1 has two more cylinders than the V6, but I can't be absolutely sure.....

I am not comparing an LT1 to a V6, I am comparing an LT1 to other V8's in general. The thing is a f***ing snail. I drove a 97 TA about a week ago, with 3.73 gears, and it was NOT impressive at all. And you can trust me when I say the car was in perfect working order. Only upside I can see about an LT1 is that it can be built to a monster, without the sacrifice of durability to great extremes. But a stock LT1; rather not own one.

Yea, thats what im thinkin too. Name other V8's in both the LT1's time period and price range that topped it in performance.

Please?

my point is, just like any car, if an LT1 isn't properly modded and tuned, it can be beaten.
Well of course thats the truth.

And a blown lt1 run a 14.1? I have heard of a Blown and juiced v6 run a 15.7 so they all must run that, right?
</font>
heh i saw the blown and juiced V6 run a 15.7, i was with him at the track. that run was on the blower only though. spraying, he ran 14.0 and 14.1.

HAHA you are kidding right? You drive 11 second V8s on a daily basis then I assume? 14.0 LT1 is nice, especially with 3.73s, my friend went 13.6 with a 3.73s, exhuast, shift kit and intake. Ya they're slow.

If you want slow, try a 3rd gen 305 or 350. Or a Mustang GT up to '99. Well since your not impressed with an LT1, you wouldnt like those '99+ GTs.

My bro's old '98 Camaro with '94 Formula LT1 (yes an engine swap) with 3.23 gears would blow the **** out of my '98 V6 with 3.08s. Wasnt even close. Sure LT1 runs out of steam topend, but thats where the LS1 comes into play.

what compares to lt1?

Toyota 1uz-fe comes to mind. Quality engine, makes I think 300hp @ 6k, smaller and lighter than the the lt1, easy to swap and mod. I think they can be found for cheap

Dude, we're talkin production cars that were in the LT1 price range at the LT1's production years.

greatsave9, well put.

What kind of torque does it make?

Whats the aftermarket like?

And it appears to be $2400-2500.
http://www.japparts.com.au/products/stock-arriving.html
Local guy quoted a an entire ls1 drivetrain, engine, harness tranny, and rear end for $3200.

Lt1s are cheaper then ls1s, so... I bet you could get an lt1 cheaper then that.

As for the aftermarket, I know I am not a total expert, but I know a small amount about import and domestic cars, and until now I have never heard of this motor. SO for some reason I have a strong feeling the LT1 aftermarket is not that great.
