omg, not fun.

I work for a small private car wash and quick lube shop.

Im holding a hose in one hand and I reach to turn on the switch for the pressure...

    BZZZZZZZZ ahhhhhh

It was only for 2 seconds... but omg, my hands were numbed, my body was feeling wierd. I felt a little disoriented... But i didnt fall down or pass out or convulse.

But damn.. that is not a good feeling at all.

Who else has been shocked before?

I got hit by line-level AC current once when I was a kid. The light fixture above the sink mirror wasn't grounded, and apparently the house was grounded on some of the pumbing. I was washing my hands, and I leaned up to turn the light on, with my left hand in the sink and touching the drain, and the second I touched the light I got lit up.

What you really have to watch out for is high amperage and especially DC power. 210 AC gives you a jolt but its really not that bad for brief periods of exposure.

a long time ago when i was plugging in a stereo, i grabbed the plug the wrong way and i got my fingers in there. it wasnt really anything much.

I almost got rocked a few weeks ago. Changing the alternator...forgot to disconnect the battery...and tried to unscrew the connection of the alternator to the battery. It sent up a few sparks about 2 feet into the air. That was fun. Oh, and it just so happens, the alternator is the first stop for power from the battery...

Im not even sure how many volts this was...

Couldnt have been too much, i have no burns, i wasnt really hurt, more suprised and tingly in my hands.

My bro says he has been shocked atleast 10 times from it in the past 2 years, so im guessing its a weak current but enough to give you a shock.

volts dont mean it's Amps that really count

1 amp can blow you hand off... or at least give you a really bad day/ fight for your life

.003 amp can kill you..... (not liklye but it can

9 poeple have died from sticking 9 volts on there touges

you can have 100,000 volts and only .001 amps and you cant feel it you hair will only stand up
