  • 2005 V6 Stang

Just got the new road and track. An Auto converitble did 0-60 in 6.8 seconds and hit the quarter in 15.1 @ 92mph. Not bad, considering the added weight of the convertible. They might squeeze 14s out of a coupe. But I gotta tell you, the shifter on that car is Soooo ugly.....

I read in HotRod that the Transmission in the new mustangs greatly improved over that of the last generation. Aren't they 5 speed autos?

5 spd auto is a $900 option over the 4spd

      I'd take a new mustang in a heartbeat if i had the $$, even a v6.

I would hope that the new v6 stang eats the v6 fbody. It has tons of new technology. But still, that shifter...hahaha

I raced an 05 V6 Stang and beat it.. there is no way they run 15.1 or are better than V6 Fbodies.

I've read they make anywhere from 200 to 210hp... which is the same as a 3.8, except I think their V6 is like a 4.0 or 4.2L or something. it's a pretty freakin big V6.

maybe you raced one w/ the 4spd auto? that extra gear w/ the 5spd is gonna make a difference. I dont think road and track lied about the times.

Where did you see anything about a four speed automatic. The transmission choices in the 05s are a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed automatic that's a $900 option over the manual.

I think even if there was a 4 spd auto, I don't think the 5 speed auto would drop it like 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

The GT is pretty fast for those though.. with like, gears, exhaust, tuning, and a couple other things the had one running 11s.

Chevy gave up on their pony car, at least the mustang is still around.

                          Yes, 5 speed auto.

I have driven one...... it was a pig!!!!

                          Dunno why.

I've been reading up on the v6stang sites and they have gone very low 15's.

Supposedly the tq management system is VERY restrictive!

Just with tuning on a v6.... 10-15 rwhp gain?

                          I LOVE the styling!
