They have the ultimate in weight reduction. :D I think when I make my first pass in the 1/4 I'll be eating a big mac and drinking a shake, lol. ;)

The GTO replaced the Firebird series and not the Soltice.

I saw that little thing at the Auto Show. It really did change my mind. It's very unique and good looking.

There was a mention about it having a turbo. I forgot what magazine I read that from.

Turbo is due next summer, my guess. I do have inside information that the turbo is a definite go.

The solstice's starting price is around 20,000. The Sky is going to be more expensive from what i've heard

The solstice is starting around 20000. There was talk about making a supercharged or turbo version of it when it was still a concept. They may still do it to one up the mazdaspeed mx5. I would wait to see if they put out a production FI version before I bought one. They probably won't do it, but you would kick yourself if they did and you bought one before you checked.

I think the Solstice would be a perfect platform for a performance vehicle. It has potential.

as far as I knew, it was unveiled as a concept, then ok'd as a production car. Personally I will be (attempting) to trade in the bird for it when it comes out 4th quarter this year.

I have heard talk about a turbo version but mostly about the supercharged. Personally I think this car is going to be fun to drive. I like the miata comment before hehe, my ex had one and I always had fun hooking corners in it.... well the solstice will have a similar concept but with allot motr horses behind it. Basically supercharged + ecotec + low curbweight + perfect balance + new styling = a badazz new ride.

Im excited about it, not gonna buy till I do a test drive. But I think the aftermarket for this car will shatter what we have available for the f-bods. Can you say pully swap and new fuel system hehe, this car will be fast (and most likely, fast at a relatively cheap price)

It seems great on paper. light weight, rear wheel drive, 5 sp manual. Sunfires and Cavaliers have used that engine for awhile now, plenty of power adders for their engines so one would think they would work for the solstice's engine.

I like the solitsice or however it's spelled. For 20g not bad.

                                Here's the hardtop version
                                http://www.car-data.com/xpage.previe...model=solstice
i think these were the concept version, but i really like the hardtops too. Hardtop miata's look funny with hardtop on. IMO
