Have you guys noticed much of a problem in this regard? Now that I have a really nice car I am really paranoid about keeping it nice! (Honestly... I have no idea how they kept this car looking this good after 7 years...)

Anyway... Things like.... I dunno.... breakins, attempted theft, keying, antenna bending, and other vandalism... Had much of a problem with it?... you know... the whole envy thing.. I don't want my car keyed just becuase it looks nice.

A few measures I'm taking is getting Window Armor put on (www.widowarmorusa.com) and installing an automatic antenna so people can't bend it in half. My dad wants me to buy "the club" too... but I've seen a professional theif doing his thing on TV.... all they have to do is saw through the steering wheel and take the club off. Mine has the security system... but we all know it's not that good... and all a dude has to do is slim jim my car and hotwire it... so I'm thinking of getting some ignition cutoff or something.

Had much of a problem with it? What countermeasures have you taken?

    Welcome to the club

But what I am most paranoid of is people smashing their doors on mine. Once some dude did it in front of my apartment and set off my car's alarm; I came out ready to deal judgement on his a-s-s but he started saying sorry so I had to let it go...

the only things that i really have to worry about around here is either sound system being stolen or door dings. once in a while, a group of people will vadalize one person's car just because they hate that person. but i don't have many enemies. if you have a system, just tint your windows and keep your **** well hidden.

Yep, I'm getting 35% tint really soon (lowest legal in my state)... I never leave valuables out in the open, I have no enemies... I'm just hoping someone won't come by, start coveting my car, decide that I deserve to be punished for having a cool car, then proceed to key and otherwise destroy the beauty of my car.

I'm not so worried about breakins... but I am concerned... it IS a 7-year-old car and is susceptible to slim jims.

Thankfully... the prevous owner installed a 10-CD changer in the trunk totally out of view.

Dude, my Viper doesn't do that, I want a freekin refund!

Though the starter-kill was more than worth the price of entry.

you have to buy the add on modules for it, it about 50 for the voice 40 for the dual zone, 10 for the pain, and 40 for the window moddule and the only one that take up a channlt is the window mod

excellent help viper. Thanks. I will strongly consider doing that... that would give me a lot more solice than "the club"... ...would be a lot cooler... would be less ugly and not such a pain in the rear.

Why have visual "security" when you can tell them to back off?

I drove 1200+ miles to vegas last month w/o a scratch and as soon as I pull up to the Luxor, some ******* in a taxi cab gets out next to me and slams the door on my car and then took off like a bat out of hell (barely noticeable dent).

Other than that I've been lucky with this car. Apartment complexes and malls are the worst areas for car crimes. There's not much you can do. I recommend the autolock, red or blue LED blinker. The best security when your parked at home is the driveway patrol motion sensor that rings an alarm inside your house if someone gets near your car. Sells for $20.
