Nice man. I started last year, and I'm only up to 185 as my max. That's impressive for your weight
**** my friend's roommate in the Navy decided to go with my friend to work out one day..
This boy never lifted a weight a day in his life, just a big corn-fed oakey..
Put up 330lbs a few times... thought he could do more too but didn't want to push it.
That's impressive to me LOL
btw 250 is a damn good amount for your weight, good job!
Universal benches i can rep 300 like its a joke. machines make the weights all odd, i dont get it. i understand pully concepts, and thats mainly it tho.
thanks guys, im impressed also. im not one of those people who goes to impress others (well, somewhat, i mean, who doesnt ;) ), im out to impress myself. today after i put it up, i stood up and was like "YEAAAAAAA!" grinnin ear to ear!
nearly 100 lbs over my body weight, 160% of my total body weight.
Congrats. Now focus more on developing your muscle. Max reps doesn't do much other than break that set barrier.
Which is fine if that's what you want. I've been to powerlifting meet and saw 135 lbs guys benching 315 lbs but still small. Now that's a sleeper right there. Small and powerful.

btw, my max was just a goal. i develop the muscle also. 250 is my max, normally i do 230 6 or 7 times for strength, and try to do a pyramid type workout. ill warm up with 135, do about 180, then 200, then 230, then 230 again, then 190, then cool down with 135 again.
but i also do inclined dumbbell press and cable flyes to further develop the chest.

bud, when i was 16 i was exactly like you. i was 6'1", 130lbs, and weak. i was a friggin string bean. high metabolism + long limbs = skinny dude.
being that i knew i was going into law enforcement, and just overall i wanted to be strong as hell, i started lifting. got books, read everything i could, and finally 4 years later found my niche, know what foods work for me, know what exercises work and when to switch them up, and i know how to work out correctly.
27lbs of muscle later, you can tell i work out, im strong enough to handle people who get out of line at my job, and im pushing myself even harder.
all i can say is lift hard (2 hours a day, correct form), eat lots (protein shakes, chicken, fish, etc.), and get good sleep. works great.
