Not that I'm standing up for stupid people, but the way things are designed is often plain out dumb. Examples:

Often the signs are small and hard to read. I can see pretty well without my glasses but I cannot read signs at a long distance and I rarely wear my glasses into the grocery store (only wear them while driving at night). I'm not going to spend 10 minutes searching around like an idiot when I can just bug the employee for 10 seconds. Don't like it? Get a job where you don't have to talk to customers.

Often the YES part has been rubbed off. On many machines, the green button is ENTER and the YES button is grey and off to the side where you can't even see it. Those stupid machines are so inconsistent you have to sit there and decode their button entry system every time you go to a different grocery store. Don't blame the consumer, blame the engineer in India that designed the stupid keypad.

    "I dont see it"
IT'S THAT DAMN NUMBER ON YOUR CARD THAT SAYS IDENTIFICATION NUMBER!!!!
Again, font size. I have four insurance cards: my health insurance card, prescription drug card, vision insurance card, and some other sort of medical-related card, I don't even know what the heck it is. Every one of them looks completely different, all the fonts require a magnifying glass to see, and every one of them has at least six ID numbers on the front. There's plan number, group number, identification number, policy number, plan code number... I guess I'm just an average American, I don't sit down and study which card I'll need and which of the 20+ different numbers I'll need to read off to the rep on the phone. Think of this like mailboxes. One is for normal and one is for priority. Or at the movie rental place. One is for DVD and one is for VHS. If you can use either one then why the hell do you have two??? Duh...

And the sign is broken, or its in neon that doesn't work, or its in some weird font that no one in their right mind could read...

    Etc...

no people are just mad lazy. I used to work at food lion. why go to each aisle and look for a sign when you can ask an employee and get a definite answer.
what gets me is the people that will look up and down the shelves many times. they'll just wait for you to see if they need help. its great. I used to love making people wait.

that whole food lion experince did teach me to be a little more patient with people. you just have to understand that they've got alot of crap going on. you're only concentrating on the little point in their lives that you see

not to say that there arent dumb people in the world though

Wise words. That's why even when people annoy the heck out of me I strive treat 'em nice anyway. You never know what people are going through... what horrible thing happened to them that day. What family member just died... what illness they just found out they had. The miscarriage their wife had, the debt they feel they can never escape, the oppression by their boss or spouses.... You never know what someone is going through.

something that really really irritates me and usually takes me a bit to figure out is the 'no/yes' buttons on the debit/credit machines at checkout. the keypad layout is different on every single one. some have a seperate yes, some a combined yes/enter, some have 'soft keys' at the top. its also extremely irritating to have the choice be 'no/yes'. that is completely counterintuitive. since the typical operation is yes, it SHOULD BE FIRST.

this is so brain damaged that it must have been designed by someone who was not north america/european.

Stupid people = Result of the parents not teaching their kids, and schools doing to much BS.

For whatever reason the American population of parents do not believe it is necessary to teach there children important skills and trades. Parents believe taking their children ont he Disney Mickey Mouse ride is bonding....

I believe going around in circles on a giant mouse makes you more stupified by the minute, laughing and giggling, teaching your kids its fun to be a moron.

WOW WOW WOW viper.....a little therapy there or something? Cuz this whole thread is for $hitz and giggles. BTW, have you ever worked at a grocery store? I doubt it, and its not just a few people who just look at the ATM/CREDIT macine and go, Um, where's the OK button, when the machine says, "IS THE AMOUNT OK?" Who replys to that question with the work OK? It's a yes or no question. And at my grocery store, ALL the MACHINES are brand new from like a year or so ago, and there is no excuse for not finding the YES button cuz it IS right there! That's why I get so agrevated. And Stefan...Our signs are HUGE! I wasn't talking about all the grocery stores! I was just showing examples of how people are STUPID. I think we need to get rid of some of the uptight people too! Sorry to all who are against this post cuz you've had a bad day or week.
