Occaisionally horrible things happen to my computer. Though it's a pain in the rear I always learn something new and learn the subtle personality of my computer. Now when things go wrong I know what is causing it and how to fix it.
Once I was working with Roxio Easy CD Creator and it gave me all kinds of problems. Once one of their patches corrupted my whole system and I had to reformat. Another time both of my CD drives dissappeared after installing it.
2 years later...
Well I work at a tech job now and my boss sent this guy to me. He said his disc drives were dissappeared. I was like "OMGOSH" in my head... I said "You wouldn't happen to have installed Easy CD Creator would you have?" He said he had installed, then uninstalled napster, and he thought he saw something about roxio in there.
I went up, did a little h4x0ring on his registry, and had it fixed in 5 minutes. I was just thinking "Wow, I'm really happy that crap happened to me before... or my boss AND I would be sitting up there stumped for 5 hours preventing a VP from working on his computer wondering how the heck to fix this"
Moral of story: When crap happens know that you are probably learning something in the process and that it might help you down the road!
Now we can continue "goof off friday" instead of being stumped over a grumpy computer haha!
