      Why did you try a 05 v6?

      Why not a 05 GT?

And yes the 05 V6 Mustang has better performance than our cars.

1.) It has a OHC Engine. No more dropping the engine to remove the cam, no more lifters and pushrods.

      2.) It has bigger displacement

3.) Mustangs handle pretty damn well compared to us.

GM is foolish for not going to OHC with their V8 and 3800.

An OHC engine will still make just as much low end power.

Less moving parts = Higher Engine Speeds

The cam profile is what determines where power is made in which rpms.

People say the 302 is the best ford engine ever made... I say the 00+ 4.6 is the best ford engine ever made.

I'm sure your Cavalier is built so much better than an 05 Mustang. My friend and his mom both have 05 GT's, and they're faster than our cars, they're built a hell of a lot more solidly, and they handle like they're on rails.

Has anyone here driven a new GT? There's a ton of headroom too, and after three of us rode around in my car the other night and then switched to his the Mustang felt a lot bigger. I could ride in the back of that thing for hours with someone in front. And you can slam the door shut with the window open and it closes just as solidly without rattling as it does with everything closed up. Try that in a Camaro. The base interior looks cheap, but it's not hard to justify $400 for the upgrade package.

i drove the v6 quite honestly because they didnt have a gt on the lot at the time...wierd i know...

But my girlfriend is really obsessed with them, so i thought it'd be cool to go drive one and take her.

Ours had the interior upgrade package..all that really does is add in silver to the dash and other minor things.

also, didnt really feel faster than my 3800 maro...but then again there were 3 of us in there, and the dealer was a big guy.

birdofprey, you dont like the ls1? It totally outperforms the mustang GT ohc engine. Also it gets about the same mpg. I'm not even mentioning the ls6, ls2, or the ls7 that are lightyears ahead of fords v8's. I love my pushrod v6 too with hangs with the 4.0L OHC 05 mustangs without hessitation. I dont get why people dont like pushrod engines.

                Yeah, its SOOOOOOOOOO superior...
Europeans were laughing at GM for using a pushrod motor in the new Z06 Corvette... well guess what? It is FASTER, and gets such good mileage it doesn't even have to pay the gas guzzler tax. Has a 7000rpm redline, makes 385 torque at 1600rpm, the list goes on... technology is nice, but NOT the only way to achieve horsepower! Get your head out of your ***!

Wow, someone says something about another car being better than the discontinued Camaro or Firebird, and all of a sudden it's like a freakin' playground in here... LOL. "Eww, he looked at Amanda... Why don't you go kiss her, you cootie-loving butthead! Cootie Kisser! Cootie Kisser!" Seem familiar? Yeah... Romperroom.

GM was smart not to go OHC especially with their V8. 4.6L vs LS1, LS1 is LIGHTER, SMALLER (physically), gets better gas mileage, and makes more power. And now the LS2 takes all that to another level. And at least in the f-bodies I know the cam can be done without dropping the engine, there's enough room to come out the front. And you can rev pushrod engines really high too (new Z06 will have a 7100 rpm redline), as long as the springs and pushrods are made to do it.
