Ok I have xp on my computer now everything running fine. However, I got a new disk with sp2 on it and I figured I would do a fresh install. But when I put it in and went threw the blue screen where it loads everything. I get to starting windows and the computer just shuts off? Anyone have a clue what’s wrong. Thanks

sp2 is bull****. u must have ZERO spam, spyware, or virus on your computer to successfully install sp2. which unless the computer is brand ****en new.. its impossible. Last known good configuration is u'r friend96 Camaro M5. Funny, I've run SP2 since before it was released with 0 problems. It's been almost a year since I last reformatted, and I have no viruses or spyware.
Windows is probably getting a fatal exception. By default the computer automatically reboots, rather than showing you the STOP code so you can debug the problem. There's a hundred different things that could be causing the problem....bad memory, drivers, etc.Matt

If you can get into safe mode (mash F8 like crazy when the computer boots), right click my computer, go to properties, advanced, then go to startup and recovery. When your there uncheck the restart windows button. Then reboot normally. Note the error code and look it up. Chances are the SP2 installation is ****ed, but it could be something else.
