what ever became of this?? this makes the current Ford GT seem like a Focus (with the retro styling of the '69 GT-40).

i believe they designed this to give a McLaren F1 a good run, like the Chrysler ME-412 concept would take down an Enzo.

agreed. it has some similar styling cues as the ME.

I love the ME, because it combines the edginess and sharp lines, with curves, and it's low.

speed-wise, that is impressive; but mustangs are ugly, imo.

the gt90 combined a hyperprogressive styling approach, with raw power (though they used a rather small displacement engine (for a 12-cyl)) . The tailpipe/ exhaust was mounted in a ceramic housing, because temperatures were in the 2000º range.

cadillac also had the "sixteen", but that was too heavy, and too impractical

though it's output was staggering ...1000 hp, 1000ft/lbs

                    Didn't that have a 16 cylinder?

                      yes. a 13.6 L V-16

                      here's a pic http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/...ac_sixteen.asp

it's a heavy car @ 5000lbs, but I read somewhere (C&D, I think) that it goes from 0-60 in just over 3 seconds.

talk about haulin' *** in style (though I think the Cien definitely looks cooler)

actually, i read in an article that the fuel economy was comparable to
small displacement v-12, and even some V8s; they implemented some sort of "displacement on demand" fuel economy regulator on it. I'll find it, and edit this post with the link...

I'm sure it was more than 1/2 mile per gallon.

There was an article floating around on the economy features they had on it.

It would run on 8 cylinders at certain times I think.

                              ^^

                              exactly.

it was a fairly technologically advanced concept, which is more than I can say about the H2
