Head Work Picture Diary

Well I started Thursday but just got some pictures today. I'm going to port-match these heads and do a valve job, then polish the combustion chamber and intake/exhaust ports. When I'm done I'm going to buy a cam, lifters, pushrods, 1.6 roller rockers, and new springs and retainers. Then I'm going to swap these heads with the stockers and install the cam and new valvetrain.

So anyway this will be a little picture diary to show my progress.

As you guys can see I had a lotta work ahead of me, but since winter break starts next week I probably won't get to the actually die grinding until after i get back to school :(

mostly on my own with my autoshop teacher there to help and junk.

Autoshops cool huh, i swapped out my 97 motor for a 2000 last year. I miss having access to a lift and knowledgeable teacher. I wanted to finish my true dual exhaust but it ended up not happening. Good luck with your head/cam project, what kind of tuning are you going to have because as far as i know there isn't a whole lot out there for the 3.4 liter

alright well now that i'm back in school i resumed my project. yesterday and today i cleaned the valves up.

okay i finally got some real progress on my heads this week. i ordered the summit port and polishing kit and i started to polish the combustion chambers. the first pic is one of the chambers after the solvent tank and hasnt been polished yet. the second is one that has been:
