• I think I better stop putting in cheap gas

My bird has been having a hard time starting up. The cheap gas might be clogging up my injectors.

I usually go fuelling at Mobil 1 or Texaco and these stations do have additives that helps keep your car running clean.

But since the gas pitch, I've been going to a mom & pop gas station. Which is about $0.30 cheaper. So far it hasn't done anything bad to my wife's Santa Fe and my pick up but my Firebird seems to not like it.

I've already put two bottles of STP fuel injector cleaners and GUM out. The Firebird is starting to feel a little better.

There's your problem. Use techron, it works much better.

I use strictly hess or sunoco. They're both pretty clean, they don't use Exxon/Mobile gas which I'm boycotting, and they're always .10-20 cheaper then them.

Conoco around here is usually pretty cheap too. I never would have guessed it to be top tier.

GUM and STP are some of the worst things you can do to a motor

Thanks for telling me. I'll just finish this tank up and try another brand.

I just found this on the internet, and I get my gas from Racetrac! I’ve been getting it there since I purchased my car back in February, should I get it at another gas station or stick w/ Racetrac? I’m starting to think I should go to Shell or Exxon?

For cleaners, I like Techron and Redline, as they're the only companies that bothered writing something back when I decided to call all of them and see if they could tell me anything useful. (try a search)

It's more about how the gas station is upkept.

i normally get gas from royal farms wawa's or a supermarket i have notice it make the car try harder to start but ive started to use 89 and u can feel the differnt atleast i can it feels a little pepier ( like u can bearly feel it) and it starts up a lot easier so now gas is going down im probably going to stick with 89 and maybe if shell and sunoco and mobil can give me comprable prices ill get gas from them.

I decided (for peace of mind) I am going to ALWAYS fill up w/ Shell 87 Octane 100% Gasoline that meets the Top Tier Standard. BTW, thanks Mighty Thor for bringing up this topic!

Where did you find that info? I'm interested to see what companies are top tier.
