I wouldnt worry too much, the 1st couple of months i started driving i got a 114mph speed ticket in a 70, took a class and it was reduced to general speeding. Im sure if you ask to take a driver improvment class like i did it would be erased and wouldnt show up on the insurance

I wouldn't say that he's any more dangerous than the older drunks or women who put on makeup while driving. Honestly, the kid will be fine and he isn't a menace or a danger any more than you guys are so just lay off lol.

Therefore i believe the max speed on that road is 55. I was goin 45 cause there was a downward hill then the right hand turn goin on down the hill. I was not speeding like most of you suppose. My camaro takes that turn at 75 like nothing being dry of course i dont play around in the rain. Yes i did fail to keep proper control of the vehicle. I admit to that. If i would have kept proper control i wouldnt have ended up in the ditch. Im just having a hard time of understanding everytime a lil mishap occurs the state is getting paid from it. Its crooked as hell.

Alright so summarizing this up. I went from 45-40 around the turn. The turn is banked therefore water was running accross the road. The lumina was screetching but i rode through there in the camaro today and u cant see skid marks or even see where i went into ditch. So 1. I wasnt speeding, there is no speed limit sign therefore making the speed limit 55. 2. I did fail to keep control of vehicle, in the process paying good ol Virginia. I wish i could go on pay the ticket and get it over with. No its mandatory me and my family go to court over nothing and waste a day in the lovely court house. Its a possibility i might lose my license being im 16 and probly a mandatory Defensive Driving. The cop probly gave me the ticket for having to stand in the rain for 10min and it made him mad. I could of got the car out without the cops help. He did not help me in anyway. The first thing he asks is what happened. Not if my friend or I were okay. Also i would not be speeding ina 4 door family car Lumina.
Just because you were not speeding, doesn't mean you shouldn't get a ticket, and just because nobody was hurt doesn't mean you should be let off. You admit that you didn't maintain control of the vehicle, accept the consequences. The next time you try taking a turn in the rain, you're gonna remember your ticket and slow down more, sounds like the ticket might do some good to me. As far as the lack of skid marks, 99% of the time you won't leave them if it's wet. And as far as the speed limit being 55, that's in ideal conditions, you were obviously driving to fast for the conditions, or you wouldn't have ended up in the ditch. You're 16, and obviously have a lot to still learn about driving, but don't take offense to the stuff we're saying, just learn from it and move on....could have been a lot worse.
