            haha...

tip on pool screens the cheap netting that rips easy does have its advantages.... even though the good stuff doesn't rip, I am willng to bet if our pool screen ripped open ours would have stayed up.

                  http://storage.msn.com/x1p84HFhs29LW...guFUEUFHO0zIJA

Dozens of those very tall Washington palms snapped over in the winds. We had many oak trees just break in half.

Still, it could have been a lot worse.

We were lucky - many people had it much, much worse than us.

We were fortunate because our screen enclosure did not blow away. We lost about five corner braces, but the main structure stayed intact. I'll need to do a lot of work on reinforcing it as many of the connecting braces were bent/weakened by the structure repeatedly flexing in the high winds.

The pool is actually back to blue now.

The big unknown for me is how much it will cost to repair the tile roof. Most of the barrel tiles at the roof peaks/corners are broken or loose. There are many broken tiles all over the roof. The hurricane deductible is 2% of the insured value - so that's a large number.

Thats what got us, of all the storms over the years, its stood up, but we had it rescreened around 8 months ago, barely any torn panels, we thinkg the pressure dragged it down into the pool ripped off some of the edge of the roof.

                        Not too bad.

We are getting a full new roof, we are getting money for the screen, but we are not sure if we are going to put it back up or not.

                          Eric,

Those photos are from South Florida, judging from the royal palms, the Australian pines and the small oak trees. Where about - Davie/Cooper City?

                            just north of Davie...

My parents live in Plantation(Plantation Acres, if you really know the area)... most the photos are from the West end of 595.

My parents live on corner of Broward/Flamingo Rd. about 2-3 miles south of Sawgrass Mills.

That area has (had) tons of big Australian pines.
