Is ethenol really safe for our cars?

I saw today, that citgo has a 85% ethenol gas mix and its only 2.19/gal. I was wondering about all the pros and cons about it and if anybody else has seen that.

I think I saw in our owners manual that the factory only recomended a max of 15% could be wrong though

ok any more info? have you guys seen at the citgo's where they have that i think they had a specific name for it, but i cant remember what it was

there was an artical in our paper today about a guy who modified his '68 lemans to run on 85% ethenol. he's logic was that the E-85 blend should be much cheaper than regular fuel even with rising cost, but companies are realizings its value and making about a 40 cent per gallon profit off of it by keeping it at a regular gas prices.

but as for using it in our cars don't. but i do use the 10% blend in my car. works fine plus its 91 octain, higher than the other selections, and its always cheaper.
