Well, iv smoked on and off since I was about 15. I Quit for 8 months. Started again when I hit 17. And from there my cigarrette consumption has gone uphill.

On top of this I have asthma. But the smoke doesnt trigger it. It seems that animals and grass are what triggers my asthma. But I never go into asthma attacks close to dying, I just become very uncomfortable. But I know I have to stop smoking. I'v noticed I started using my inhaler once a day. Although, any doctors says its okay to take one puff a day to prevent asthma flareups. I do not want to end up making my asthma worse. Since we all know smoking can cause asthma.

I just got to stop! I guess If i dont stop soon, i could develop emphasema.

It's none of your business, Hawgs, but ... I have the best parent in the world. However, I got into some bad sh*t when I was about 13. It had nothing to do with my mother. Don't you have better things to do with your time than be immature and cocky with things that in no way apply to you?

Actually, Niky, no flame or anything but I was thinking the same thing. The age limit on buying smokes is 18, I can see a 17, 16, or maybe even 15 year old getting their hands on a pack of cigarettes every now and then. But thirteeen???

I bet her mom smoked, and she just stole cigarettes out of the pack every now and then.. that's the only way I could think it would work... either that or have a cigarette drug dealer, haha.

just like stefan spoke about smoking socially at work, I used to go out and catch a butt with the guys when we would work around the clock in studio at college. after bumming for too long, I started buying my own, till a friend saw I had a pack laying on my desk. After taking a bunch of crap from the non-smoking tree hugger, I tossed the pack in the waste basket. Never bought a pack since. I still occasionally smoke one at a bar while drinking, but Ive kind of lost the taste for them. I do however really enjoy cloves and cigars and have a respectable collection in my humidor for special occasions.

I was seriously shocked at a 13 year old smoking, it was in no way intended to bash you or your mother. I don't think I would even know what end to light or what to do with a cigarette when I was 13. I dont know... maybe I lived a sheltered lifestyle when I was younger.

My mom did smoke ... everyone around me smokes ... I was just destined to smoke! Yea, I used to steal them from her and when she caught me, I'd be grounded! Like I said, I got into some really bad sh*t when I was 13. I was the biggest pothead in the world ... at 13! I haven't smoke that in about 3 years now though ... wish I could say the same for cigs ...

I'm a very casual smoker. At work, not home [img]graemlins/stickpoke.gif[/img] , I usually smoke 1 cig about every 3 mos. When I drinking, I'm allowed to smoke as I can get a buzz from it on top of the beer [img]graemlins/rock.gif[/img] . I've smoked about 10~15 since getting here. It's a nice excuse to hang outside at night, see constilations not seen in the states, and enjoy the nightly lows of 80*. I really smoked a lot (for me) in High School. Usually a pack a month [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Next month, however, when the bazaar comes back I'm going to get me some Cubans & enjoy a nice long smoke!!!!!!

Cancer doesnt run in my family. No one in my whole family has cancer. My dad smoked for 10 years, my grandpas both smoked for a long time. My uncles did as well. They all quit now. And all are still alive and healthy, except for one of my grandpas who died of diabetes and black lung. He was a firefighter and back then they didnt have protection.

But I saw some horrific pictures of cancer patients and I just gasped in horror.

Having had 3 heart attacks (1/2 of my heart died from them) still did not stop me from smoking.

I finally quit when I was 49 years old.

8-6-01 was the last day I had a cigarette.

Yea it sucks your realy gona want one and it's all your gona think about.Your gona be on edge and be an a** to everyone you know. But when it gets real hard just think about whats going to hapen if you don't stop. Even if your one of the luckyones that dosen't get cancer,your'e still taken years off your life .

It was hard. But it's all willpower.
Dont by into all that crap they sell to help.
The gum and all that crap still feads the adiction.
The onely thing that helped a bit was toothpicks.
yea i sed toothpicks. ;) when you want a but throw one in your mouth and twirll it like it's a but. It helps a bit.

I respect and really wish you guys the best on your decision. But I also really do wish you guys don't smoke. After seeing how my uncle slowly died from lung cancer, I said to myself that no one should suffer like this. Imagine a simple thing like eating, lying on a bed or even p'ing, this was so hard for my uncle to do. Because he kept running out of breathe.

Like Ray, he started too when he was 11 or something, I know for a fact he started very young, my dad too. At age 46 he had the cancer and he died and left 3 small children and a wife who only makes a living as a house made.

When my dad saw this he quit cold turkey. But ten years later he would end up having 3 heart surgeries. The doctor told him it was due to his smoking. I'm sure he would have been dead too if he didn't stop.
