• I am sooooo ready to move out!!

No my parents haven't pissed me off, i just feel the need to be independant, get a roommate (preferably 21+ years of age) and not have to worry about the 'rents if i want to throw a party, get drunk, bring home some women, or whatever, or not have to say where i'm going, when i'll be back, etc. I want to move to someplace with beaches n women....cali, florida, etc ...mmmm california..... ...but then i think of the things i have to give up like free rent, free food, no bills... lol. I'm actually thinking sometiem around next spring ....maybe. One of the people i work with is planning on going back to college (the same place i would be going NEXT fall...maybe this spring if i decide i want to go sooner) and he would need a roommate i'd be up for it, we get along with each other.

Edit: edited out B!tches on Linxs behalf

Make sure you add to the equation EVERYTHING that you take for granted.

I was trying to prove to myself that I'm able to afford everything and was highly considering moving out with one of my buddies to a small apartment. It would of been affordable, except for the fact that he was in and out of jobs.

Make sure you trust the person you're moving in with FIRST. You do not want to be picking up the majority of bills. I know many people that just stopped being friends because they lived together and they screwed each other over with bills.

Also, you need to remember that not all places cover all expenses. Electricity bill, Gas bill, Water Bill, Insurance bill, Apartment bill, Phone bill, along with any bills you personally pay a month, like Car, Credit Cards, Cell, Gas, etc. This is not including any "Food bills" you rake up.

Don't forget you don't have mom and dad's appliances laying around. Need a vaccuum along with cleaning supplies (easily $200), extra money for washing clothes (assuming you have a close facility), blender, coffee maker, foreman grill, kegorater (always come in handy!), kitchen utensils (expensive), and so much more.

And what about furniture and electronics? Furniture is NOT cheap. Sure, you can get hand-me-down things, but bringing some one over to a place that looks rundown really shows how well you're doing. Expect to furnish your place for about $500 atleast or so ASSUMING you have a bed already to move in with.

Hope this shed some light into the situation of moving out. I considered it and was VERY glad I didn't. I figure I'll finish up college then work on that. Now if your parents decide to help you with the majority of this or even pay for it full, well, I hope you die. jk

EDIT: I noticed you're 18. HA! Good luck. If you even get your foot out the door, expect to have your parents bailing you out of money troubles in a few months.

Sure, I don't have the freedom I want at home, but I have no curfew, can sleep out anywhere over night, drink, have friends over, and not pay a dime. Sounds good to me!

when i see people talking about moving out, i think of my sister that has moved out 4 times and come back 4 times. and the mass amount of money it took each time. she'd stay here a year or so and my mom would fix her credit and pay **** off and then she'd leave and **** everything up again cuase she doesnt get payed that much

Education in words:

B!tch ( P ) Pronunciation Key (bch)
n.
A female canine animal, especially a dog.

Offensive.
A woman considered to be spiteful or overbearing.
A lewd woman.
A man considered to be weak or contemptible.

Usually females do not like to be called this word and I'd imagine there are other males on this board who do not want to read about a young adult complaining about his "free room and board" situation while calling females unpleasant words.

Sorry people I simply hate this word and dispise the use of it in it's unintended form.

First- Don't be worried about a roommate in college. If you go to a University they have dorms and whatnot you can stay in where you will meet some life-long friends I met my current roommates in the dorms 1st year
Next- There will be pretty girls no matter where you go, so don't let that decide where you get your education from They just happen to wear see-through clothing over here ;)

And Linxs I was just wondering...
If b*tch is in the dictionary... and has the definition of a female dog... but also has the offensive meaning for it... isn't that one of its intended forms? Just curious.

No one who is 21+ is really going to want an 18 year old roommate. Most people mature quite a bit in those years and are too busy doing other **** like working or going to school or both. Moving in with friends is asking for trouble...stupid **** happens and ends up breaking up good friendships...ask anyone who has done it.

You sound real mature too...

all true... if you move in with a friend, don't make it your best friend and be sure that you have at least one other non-friend so everybody can gang up on everybody else.

it sounds silly but it has always worked in my experience... lets people blow off steam

Actually, The term was first introduced in early 1000's and was used for a female dog. The word was then broadened to refer to fox, wolves and occasionally other female beasts in the 1500's. The following are the only documented usage of the offensive version of the word previous to the 1900's
1400 Chester Pl. (1843) 181 Whom calleste thou queine, skabde biche?
1575 J. STILL Gamm. Gurton II. ii, Come out, thou hungry needy *****.
1675 HOBBES Odyssey XVIII. 310 Ulysses looking sourly answered, You *****.
1712 ARBUTHNOT John Bull (1755) 9 An extravagant ***** of a wife.
1790 WOLCOTT (P. Pindar) Adv. Fut. Laureat Wks. 1812 II. 337 Call her Prostitute, Bawd, dirty *****.
1814 Byron Let. 15 Oct. (1830) I. 586 It is well that one of us is of such fame, since there is a sad deficit in the morale of that article upon my part, all owing to my ‘***** of a star’, as Captain Tranchemont says of his planet.
1833 MARRYAT P. Simple (1834) 446 You are a..son of a *****.

Incase I am not mistaken the word in it's offensive form was not added to the dictionary till early to mid 1900's. This was mostly due to society adopting this new definition of the word.

Anyway I see your point, I just copied a quick online definition of the word....

The person is actually the one who pitched the idea to me first about being a roommate. And dont judge my maturity by this post, or other posts i do. I'm actually very mature, handle money and finances very well. The internet for me, as well as other people probably, is like an escape where oyu dont have to be yourself and can goof off.

Also linxs sorry if i offended you, i edited it out.
