with as much traffic as ebay auctions like those get, Im assuming he was hoping that it 'might' get passed onto somebody with some cash that would call him directly, they can privately make a deal on the car and thereby not have to pay auctioneers fee's and more importantly, likely not intending to claim ALL of the profit on the sale at income at tax time.

I dont think he has any intent on selling it through Ebay, but perhaps 'because' of Ebay. those of you that have sold on ebay.... can you imagine their take on a $1million auction? Oh... and did he say if he would take PayPal?
