• Good news for GM

Six months after General Motors halted plans to use its Zeta rear-wheel-drive car architecture in North America, the company has revived the program.

In an interview with Automotive News last week, Jim Queen, GM's vice president of global engineering, said a revised version of Zeta is back on track.

Engineered at GM's Holden subsidiary in Australia, Zeta was expected to be the basis of the next-generation Pontiac Grand Prix and GTO; the Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo and a new version of the Camaro; and other vehicles. Vehicles in the program were expected to debut as early as 2006.

Its a platform that the cars listed above would be based off.

I have faith that GM will turn their problems around for the better. Unfortunatley I have faith that it will only be another 20 years give or take before they screw up again and are in the same situation.

business is a cycle. No one car company can keep the consumer happy at every turn of public opinion.

They are building our "want" and "excitement" up for the Firebird. So don't worry, when the Firebird debuts, it is going to be bad *ss

GM said they have no plains to come out with the firebird ever again and i believe it. now, if the camaro is a big hit, then yes, i think they will revieve it based on the success of the camaro and firebird owners will owe us camaro guys forever.

on another note related to us, i think if they come out with a v6, and i do think so, it will be pretty popular because of gas prices

Thats old news kinda, they announced that at the January Detroit auto show they will be unveiling the Camaro Concept so I was just assumed that the zeta platform was "not dead" that just confims everyons assumptions
