I've gotten 3 warnings in Ohio. I use the excuse "the special bracket is on backorder from the dealer" and "the dealer said it was'nt a major safety issue" If you keep your cool, and play dumb, you can get out of alot of stuff.

However, wife got a ticket, but she was speeding w/ an additude and they threw the book at her.

Years ago I got a $100 ticket and a court appearance for no front plate here in NJ. I had it in the windshield and pled the ole "car was in an accident, just got re-painted and I'm waiting on the front bracket to come in" but the cop did't care and was extremely nasty. He was on me about the rear taillight covers too. I used an ice pick to punch holes into the front of my car to mount the plate, went to court, pled some bs story and told the judge the plate is now on the car, and he let me off with just a court fee. Now I'm sorry I put holes in the front of the car cuz it looks like ****. I put hole plugs in there too.. but I ended up putting a whole grill over everything anyway. Oh, yeah, it's not a moving violation or points of any sort... just a BIG FINE to make money off of you.

i did that a few times before they finally got me for the plate. i told them that someone backed into my car and knocked it off and i was waiting on the stealership to get me a new one. it worked like 4-5 times. then i got hit with the ticket and decided that it may be ugly but its cheaper to have it on there.

here's the way to do it:

Go take off the front plate cover, drive to a police station... then get your other license plate and put duct tape ont he back of it, then paste it on... go inside, ask for a cop to sign off your ticket, then drive away to the other side of the lot... then take it off, and drive back home.

I did that 3 times, no problems.

It costs about $10 still though.

He gave me a warning and told me that i had to get one before the next time he saw me or he would write me a ticket. ive driven my car for a year and a half with no problems about not having a front liscense plate. i really dont wanna have to put one on because IMO it looks like crap. my question is will the ticket i get count as a moving violation or add points to my record or will it simply be a fine? i am willing to pay a fine if i have to as long as it doesnt count as points.
                    thanks
i got the same ticket too here in nj. My ticket was only $54 though. In nj it's not a moving violation it's just a fine. After i got the ticket i had to put the licence plate on but i didn't want to drill any holes into my beautiful red bowtie grill. so i bought "Licence Plate Relocation Bracket" from ebay or slp it's cool man get it. Don't get anymore ticket.

no offense, but imo that looks worse than just putting the plate on with the original bracket. Only good thing is... not putting holes in the bumper to mount it I guess.

According to SLP its only for the camaro so it doesn't really help him much.

I see tons of Corvette with no front plates and some Stangs. I often wonder if they've been pulled over.

I've been pulled over 3 times and given the warning. Fortunately for it was 3 different cops that gave me those warnings.

My ticket was 65 dollars. 25 dollar fine, 40 dollar "processing fee"... My plate got ripped off 15 minutes prior leaving a ski mountain while backing out of the spot. I was driving home when I got pulled over. Showed the cop the mangled plate that was still muddy and wet, and the @ss still gave me the ticket.

I still think you people should go with my suggestion on the bottom air dam. I haven't been bothered yet.

yup...Getting the bracket was my only option because i didn't want to put any holes. You're right that it doesn't look so good. It also does get scraped too. But in order to keep myself legal this was the only solution.
