I know your frustration. Why don't you try spray painting the license plate bracket white. If your state uses a white style plate, I don't think it will look so bad. But if you are in one of those states with a Green or other odd colour plate, well.. But still, painting the bracket white will help. I live in Ontario Canada, so the plates here are white and look similar to newer New York plates.

yeah , i had many NJ front plate tickets, even on my trans am i got two because i'd put the cover on for photos and forget about it. NJ is very picky about tint too. hell, last night i got ticketed by a cop with 5% tinted windows, and the ******* tickets me for tinted windows.

^^^^^^ i feel you bro. That's why i am not getting tint. Even though i don't have anything illegal (i.e. loud exhaust, tint) police still look at me like i did something wrong. They are always running my plate number, driving past me while checking if i am wearing seatbelt or no.......this is ghay.....i hate NJ rules/cops. :(
