It's more of a "learn now before someone who doesn't want to exchange words with you beats you down" kinda thing. I don't want to see any harm come to him, that isn't why I said that. I just hope he learns discretion. Since he's 19 and transporting booze in the back of his ride, I'm guessing he's got quite a few more life's lessons to learn.

Edit: P.S. don't get caught with a fake i.d., especially when you're transporting the sauce. The cops can check the DMV database...

Sorry you are that offended by using the name of God.. You're belief there is no God, doesn't in effect mean He doesn't exist, any more than mine that He does makes him real to you.

This country whether you like it or not was founded on Christian Ideology, and pure Atheism was not even considered in the writing of the Constitution, or any of our other Historical documents related to governing our nation. Most of the Founding Fathers were deeply religious, not without fault, but they did believe in God and his existence.

Please use a little discretion before posting something as hateful as you have just posted. I could offend alot more people than you intended.

Isn't it great that the same religion that he's bashing was instrumental in the founding of the government that gives him the freedom to be an Athiest? :D

Sorry, no.
Not all of the founding fathers were christian.

None of the Federalist papers discussed God. We have a freedom of religion and the only mention of a higher being was saying that our creator allowed us certain rights...
Hardly an endorsement of one religion over another.

The "christian values" this country was founded on also happen to be Jewish values, Muslim values, Buddhist values, etc. These rights have also been called "natural rights"that we have b/c we exist... nothing about being religious.

Face it, we have a freedom to worship as we please. We do not have the freedom to act as if one religion is more right than any other.

Did anyone say Christianity was better than anything else? I must have missed it... :D

An official federal stance on Christianity leading to the founding principles of this country would thereby imply that they are more right than any other system of beliefs.

The problem is, however, there are a lot on the right side of the chamber that wish to FORCE people to say the pledge.

Well, I guess it's up to the people to show the "extremists" where they belong by voting them out of office, isn't it? I don't know about you guys, but I won't give up what I believe in and be forced to do anything that goes against my beliefs. Yup, even if there's a gun to my head.

Edit: Because I'm a moron and put the wrong word somewhere.

Actually the vast majority were Christian and some even held Seminary degrees. However, I should have used Biblical Ideaology instead of Christian ideology. I am not for, forcing anyone to do anything. But having things that are not unconstitutional declared unconstitutional is ridiculous.

Im Methodist, does that mean that everything I write has following Methodism as its point? Thats what youre saying. By the way, there were plenty of founding fathers that were not practicing Christians. And nowhere, did they indicate that this is a Christian nation or that they were writing from a Christian point of view.

It isn't exactly what I was implying. Possibly, I chose my words poorly. I can't believe you can't see the Biblcal influence in the Historical Documents of our Government. There are in fact several direct quotes from the Bible in our Constitution. John Adams our 2nd President actually outlines some of them in some of his personal memoires, and in some of his other writings. I corrected my statement from Christian to Biblical ideaology, and I will stand by that statement. It's pointless to argue this point any longer, as for every point I make, you will have a counter. Let's just agree to disagree on this one. Thanks

I can agree to disagree but I want to know what influence on the Constitution that youre talking about that isnt a common belief in many other places on Earth? Through other writings?
Also, Id like to know what is directly quoted.

I just get that warm feeling inside when i say the pledge of allegiance in the morning... oh wait... thats my morning ****

I believe it should stay in the constitution, Having to say it every morning in school sucked. I think it is ****ing awesome when you go to a ballgame and you have 50,000+ people singing it.

just my 2 cents
