  • I QUIT

So as of today I have quit my job. No more pissy customers, No more 10 hour days and 50 hour work weeks, no more rental cars!

In two weeks time I start my training to become the newest member of Auto Trader.ca I will be the guy who drives around to all the dealerships in a given region each week and photo graph whatever cars the dealership wants in the magazine that week, as well as do a brief write up on the car.

So yeah, anyone who knows me knows this is a great job for me. I get to drive my Camaro all around the GTA all day, take pics of cars, then write about cars. I think I can handle it.

The pay is a bit better, with mileage compensation, cell phone compensation, more vacation, possibility to advance, pension, full health plan, etc.

I have been at Discount for almost 2 years and working with rental cars for the past 5 years. I enjoyed my stay here most the time but the pay for the housr just didn't make it worth while to stay.

I can't wait until I can tell my boss to f*ck off. Hopefully around this time next year, my business will be bringing in enough money for me to quit.

glad your out of your situation...

I am lucky, me and my boss get along, our company does stuff we hate but overall we sort of understand why...

but ugh... customers... Luckily I have learned to just be extra polite and it pisses them off more, wihtout getting in trouble.

Congrats on the new job. I live in Canada and I have sold and bought cars advertised in AutoTrader. Their web site is good, I use it all the time. But maybe since you are going there, you can make a small suggestion. On their web site, they have definitely got to post better photos, and more than one would also be good too. I look at cars on ebay, and you can get a way better idea of the car looking at the photos there than you ever could looking at the photo of a vehicle advertised in AutoTrader.ca. Just a thought. Good luck!!
