• What do you think of the new Mustangs?

I've never owned a Mustang or been a big fan, but Ford sure does know what they are doing when it comes to the new Mustang. That thing looks tough and its a real eyecatcher. The whole idea of the retro styling is a wicked idea. What caught my eye the other day as I was driving, was a huge billboard with a picture of the mustang spedometer. You could clearly see the old style 60s/70s lettering font. Wow, I liked that. Its nice to see American companies merge some of the good ideas of the old with the modern. I think other companies will follow. I am seeing ALOT of these new Mustangs on the road, you can clearly see the public likes this car more than ever. And then you have GM... couldn't think of anything exciting for our cars to pump more sales, so they ditch the whole line. At least Ford is still making a nice classic American muscle car. I hope GM is watching. Their GTO looks like a souped up Grand Prix, it doesn't conjour the feelings of a muscle car the way the new Mustangs or the f-bodies did.

have you driven a gto? if not i suggest you go try one out and youll see that its nothing like a grandprix at all. and is a very stout car.

i dont like the rear end of the mustangs. they dont look right to me. the only mustangs i have ever liked is the foxbodies and the 03-04 terminators. i dont like retro. and i really really really hope gm does not go retro with any of their future muscle cars.

The mustang's interior is still horrid if you ask me. The GTO's interior is really nice and the car is a blast to drive. Plus, idependent rear suspension > live rear axle. I will give it to ford. They know the mustang's market and they seem to hit it well.

Muscle cars are just regular cars with huge engines dumped in where as the mustangs and f-bodies were pony cars so they were designed to be a bit more visually apealing.

I LOVE Mustangs, including the new ones. However, I feel you get way more bang for the buck in the 2005 GTO's. I would go with a GTO.

I saw a brand new red convertible V8'stang with black racing stripes on the road a few weeks ago, and that looked awesome! Not really crazy over their rear facia/tailight design, but I think I'd buy one if I had the funds.

stock, they kind of look like old run down cars.. there is something about the headlights that makes it look outdated, even for its retro style, but a few supporting appearance mods really spruce it up.

The mustangs don't look too bad. The rims are crap, they look like they are 8 inches off the ground and the tail end is kinda crappy too. Throw a kit and a set of rims on them and they look great. Still doesn't help the bleh interior. I was shopping for cars and took an '05 GT convertible out. Wasn't impressed, and sure didn't feel balsy. It's not worth the money. Take a GTO out and you will see the light.

I'm not just saying that to be a Ford hater either. I didn't give a rats *** about the GTO till I took that out, and just the opposite for the stang. I thought that was great, till I took it out.

I saw a yellow and black Saleen yesterday. VERY NICE and sounded good too. That would be the only Mustang I would get.

i heard it mentioned on another board and i agree that they don't look like very agressive, the head lights kinda make them look like a cute puppy or somethin. its has nice styling but its not aggressive enough for me.

it's plain simple
GTO > Mustang. Have you seen the test drive of GTO on speed channel. You might wanna watch that cuz it beat the hell out of it's competitors. When it first came out i also had the same opinion like it's a supped up Grand Prix. But as i start seeing them on the road i am falling in love with them. It has this sophisticated beauty that you don't find in mustangs, chargers. It's interior is nothing less than luxury coupe. Just look at it and tell me you would choose a mustang over this . I like 'em. I like Mustangs in general. I'm not so sure what the back end of a Mustang looks like - I usually only see Mustangs in my rear view mirror.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

The Mustangs appearance is way better than the GTO's.

What the GTO is...

What the GTO looks like...

What the GTO should look like...

After all, it is a GTO, not a Honda...
