Warrant question

I know i have a warrant out because there is a speeding ticket i didnt pay from like 3-4 months ago. I need to go get a new drivers license and everytime i go in there i notice there is like 2-3 cops in the building. I was jsut wondering if i go to get a new license if they can see i have a warrant and arrest me? I was told that they can but im not sure

I seriously doubt they will renew your license if you have a warrent out for unpaid tickets.

You should probably go to the courthouse & get your things in order.

yeah dude, just pay it. i dont think the would have that info unless you have had your license suspended cause of it then yeah, they would see that you arent suppose to have a license. thats about it

yeah when you go to renew they will see it and you'll probably be taken in right there. best bet would be to call the court in the county the ticked was issued in and pay it. I've heard of people with warrants getting busted when they tried to renew their lisence.

I've seen numeroud arrests made at the DMV when people with warrants went to try and renew their lisense. It's great, a "manager" looking guy comes and asks them to go to his office, and a couple gaurds comes to "escort" you there. Good times.

All they did was suspend my friend's liscense when he didn't pay for a ticket, I guess every state is different.

my fiance has had a warrant for like 4 months. shes scared to renew her Ls. the police sent a letter saying that if they see her shes going to jizzail. hers is for driving without insurance. she got busted at an ATM by the cop. when she told me that i just [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] she didnt like that. no late nite action for a few days after that. :(

Sucks, i lost my drivers license somewhere and i need a new one. I cant pay the ticket cause damn fines are outrageous, like 13 over and the ticket is like $235, which i dont have. I know I know i should have set up payment but i went and the damn line at the court was like 45-60 people long and i said **** that

I didn't think you can be arrested for not paying fines. Atleast in Florida, you can't anyways.

Yeah...but wait till you see what bail is and the total cost if you get arrested.

I know that for NC you can just go on the DMV website and order a duplicate for $10, and they'll mail it to you.

the warrant is issued because of failure to appear in court.

yea, you get an FTA warrant.

They will arrest you at the DMV.

Go to your sheriffs dept with the FULL amount of money, plus about $75 for warrant processing, on a day when you have like 3 or 4 hours set aside, and they will run around and recind the warrant and let you go without much of a hassle, its only a minor offense.

(this is some of the isht it delt with over the summer)
