winter salt and my new paint, aaahhhhhhhh

So I paint my car not to long ago. Didn't even get time to put some wax on it. Paint can said wait 90 day till you do anything.

And we finally got some nasty cold weather here and they salted the roads big time. I look out today and my nice black paint job was white. Crusty salt white. I know right now I will not be able to afford going to the car wash 3 times a day.

I have a few of those pump up sprayers for spraying bug juice. So I cleaned one out well and filled it with super hot water and some soap. Took two fillings to get the car cleaned off. Though its now covered in frozen soapy water.

I was thinking of buying a hose just for washing the car off in the winter. Is hot water alone plenty to keep the salt off??? Ya know how some things / dirt wont come off a car unless you wipe it off. way to cold to get out a sponge or bush.

I wonder if plain hot water will keep the salt at bay???

And really, I don't know if my paint is even ready for the abuse it will get at a carwash.

If I were you, I would definitley NOT wipe your car down with a sponge with such fresh paint... That salt will scratch the hell out of your paint job. Pressure washer possibly?

Of course you could always do what I do... Use the salt as a protective coating for the paint... ;) lol. Protective Coat
