      hmm, the 3.9 has got to be a 90* (i dont know much about it) and i would guess its really a bored out 3800 but i could be wrong. anybody know anymore about it?

        I don't think that's a fair judgement. You can do as much to a 60* as you can a 90*. It just takes the right person. ;)

            Why does it have to be a bored out 3.8? Displacement doesn't mean a freakin thing when you are talking engine design.

              The 3.8 was supposed to be killed years ago, but it's still here. The vette was supposed to have 4 valves per cylinder, but the ZR-1 is long gone. Who knows, it ain't dead yet.

                The 3.9L is a 60*. Same family (HV or High Value) as the new 3.5L is.

                There's talk of the possibility of the HF (High Feature) family being able to be increased to a max of 3.8L so it's possible we'll see the return of the displacement, however the HF family is 60* DOHC so it won't share anything in common with the current 3.8L.

                  the nice thing about GM's OHC engines is the fact that they keep alot of low end power. GM said 90% of the torque will be from 1800 to 5600 rpm on the LZ8 engine... which is fantastic.

                  Unlike many imports which seem to lack low end power.
