    ok for those in the millitary you know how importan rank is, well in th AF you can get E-4 below the zone if your a good performer (btz).....welll

    i get shipped off to Iraq, and while im gone my superviser calls me and says i will get put up for BTZ......cool

    we'll i get back and didn't here anything at all, started aking my supervise and the shop SUP whats going on, i get were checking, then today i find out my supervisor had the wrong date/forgot/didn't bother to check what the **** ever happend of rank and didn't put my package in. WTF theres not a danm thing i can do, that i know of...

    lets see if i WOULD HAVE BENN giving the god damn mother ****ing chance i worked my *** off for and served 6 long *** ****ing months in iraq beacuase i knew it would help me get it, cancling my leave and everthing. i would be getting the 200 ****ing more amonth come august but no......... oh BTW did i mention i TOLD all the people that needed to know when i was going up for it.... **** this **** rank **** sucking mother ****ing Bull **** i know nothing cuasei only have 2 stirpes on my arm [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img]

        3 stripes = spellcheck [img]tongue.gif[/img]

        Just sit back & enjoy all the special pay you already spent ;) .

        Make up for it by making Staff the first time testing. Or take a second job.

        There wasn't a garuntee that you would've made it, but yeah, a chance would've been nice. Ask promotions if they have any supplemental boards or anything like that, or has the pooch been screwed.

          well if i would have gotten it I COULD HAVE TESTED FOR STAFE IN THE NEXT CYLE AND HAD A BETTER CHANCE AT IT.

            tell your supervisor that you want to request a meeting with his boss (sorry, don't know the exact lingo for the AF since I'm navy). Your basically wanting his boss to explain to you why he can't get things done for his people. If you go through him to do it, and be respectfull, they request has to be taken seriously and will have to be done. It's not going over his head in the rude way, but it is forcing him to rat himself out and become accountable for his stupidity to those above him. You can do this for 3 or four supervisors in a row too and get lots of people involved.

            Thats what I'd do in the Navy anyway... (and you'd be suprised at how well it works). Good luck on E-4 (eventually)

                That sucks man. My supervisor put in my package the day it was due because he was slacking off on me. Two of my friends and I have the same DOR, but they have different supervisors then me, and mine just made staff last year. Oh well, we'll find out about BTZ within the next week or two, if we get it (doubt it though, 8AF is messed up, alot of airmen in other shops don't work but have the higher ups that are good at making them look really good on paper), I get to put it on in july. hey, at least you got the money from the desert and your short tour. Good luck though man.

                    Whoa, chill Viper! I think you can still test for staff next cycle!!! I was supposed to have gone up for BTZ (and did, just lost to some kid who sat on his azz all day, lol) and thought I wasn't going to be able to test for the '03 cycle but I got to anyways. Let's see, I went up for it in Apr '02 (BTZ) and ended up putting E4 on in Oct, I made the cutoff to test in that cycle (by quite a bit) and tested in Mar '03. I made it, and now I'll put on Staff beginning of July. You still have a chance!

                    However, if your supervisor sucks, and you make a stink about the BTZ thing, he can write you up as a 4 on your EPR, and that'll hurt you bad, due to how WAPS is weighted by most recent EPR, then previous 4 EPRs. Just watch yourself bud...

                      Military, corporate... we all have moron bosses who conveniently forget about the raise they promised you when it comes to performance eval time. Welcome to the world. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

                      Though my boss is probably safer, at least I don't carry a rifle while at work. [img]graemlins/naughty.gif[/img]

                            But you did mention money. If you're a shyt hot airman, then ride your super about when the next STEP promotions go out. PRomotions office should have te info/quotas when available.

                              Honestly Viper, BTZ is NOT that big of a deal. Once you hit a promotions board (E8) they won't be looking for who had BTZ...
