• This is what happens when I go to Guitar Center

http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--FEN0213200000

Yeah, I come home with one of these. I was looking for one used on E-Bay but kept getting outbid in the last 1-3 seconds. It was used, on sale, and I traded my ghetto Epiphone for it. But daaaaaaaaamn does it sound wonderful on my Stratocaster.

With not being able to drive my car until December starting on Sunday, I figured I needed something to occupy my interests

$750 seems a little steep. My guitar exchange has a 80 watt line 6 for cheaper than that with all those effects.
BTW what happened with your car?

I don't know much about fender amps other than that I don't like them (not because they're bad equipment, just because its not my style), but line6 amps are generally all digital, which I (and many other guitarists) don't like. So I could easily see him picking a fender amp for his stratocaster over a line6. I just bought this not too long ago.

It's an all tube, loud loud LOUD 60W amp. The clean channel on the Hot Rod is almost the standard of tube amp clean channels. Solid state amps just don't get that warmth and tone that tubes bring out. Plus, tube amps are generally a lot more efficient than SS amps. I bet a 15W Fender Blues Jr. would match up against that Line 6.

After playing with the amp for 20 min after I got it, I can see why they can charge 750 for it and have it be one of the best selling tube amps of all time.

I'm going to college, and not taking the car with me, which is the only reason basically.

Mesas are badass, if I get to the point where I gig a lot I'll probably get a single or dual rec to take with me. But that's waaaay down the line, I don't see what I really couldn't do with this Hot Rod besides straight death metal

All tube is the way to go, if you're serious about guitar. And I guess you could say I'm a bit of a shreader, so the mesa is perfect for me

all tube can be overrated. just needed in teh preamp section, as digital overdrive can get nsty, especially when clipping.

So you guys would understand why my sister paid so much for her triple mesa boogie funky something or another rectifier? Some of that crap is crazy expensive. Shes excellent at guitar. I suck and do not have the patience, lol.

mesa dual rectafier? I seen me one of those in Abilene around 96. That thing has about 20 tubes. I was like , especially when I considered my 100wt JCM 900 duall reverb was setup for the price.

I have a dual rectifier, and you don't need any more tubes than that unless you're playing a freakin stadium. So if she got a triple rectifier, and she's not playing stadiums, she bought the wrong amp. She'll never hit the sweet spot on it. It's way too loud.

I can't even imgagine 100+ tube watts on an amp, the 60 on my Hot Rod blows me away at a setting of 3 (it goes to 12).

Exactly. The dual is 100 watts, the triple is 150 watts. I rarely go over 1/4 volume on the dual. Anything else and i'm drowning out the drums. 150 watts is just nuts.
